It's your last night here. Please come over. There will only be a small group of people hanging out over here. Please? – Boston
I read the text message over and over again. I haven't spoken to the group since my argument with Mason at Boston's house. I spent that evening, along with the following day, at my mother's house. The time has dragged longer than I ever imagined it could, but I've gotten to know Brad a little more and I talk to Jett whenever I can. I'm trying to make it to Saturday morning and then I can leave. I don't want to spark an argument with my mother by leaving before then. There's still a lot that needs to be resolved between her and I, but I applaud her for giving me some space and controlling her mouth since I've been here. The changes with her are unexpected but greatly appreciated.
Tonight is my last night here. I'm going back to Atlanta and I have no idea when I'll be back. If things are going to be this way between Mason and I, it probably won't be anytime soon. However, Boston is still my friend. I owe it to her to say goodbye in person before I leave tomorrow morning. I reply to her message.
I'll be there tonight. I won't be able to stay long. I leave first thing in the morning. – Evy
Ok. I'll see you tonight. - Boston
I lay back on my bed, trying to collect my thoughts. I hope tonight goes better than the last time I was over at Boston's house. Hopefully, Mason will be in a better mood. If not, I'll leave. It's plain and simple. I don't have to stay and put up with his bad behavior. My cell phone starts ringing, interrupting my thoughts. I check the screen. It's Jett.
"Hey, you." I say into the phone.
"Hey to you too." Jett says with a laugh.
"What are you up to?" I ask him.
"Oh, nothing much. I just finished doing some shooting for work." He says.
"Oh yeah? What are you shooting?" I ask.
"I'm at the airport. Just taking some photos around here." He says plainly.
"Oh, that's cool." I reply. "I bet you're getting some good ones out there."
"Yeah." He says. "What are you doing today? I imagine your going to be with your friends since it's your last night, right?"
"Yes. Boston is having some kind of get together at her house tonight. She said there's only going to be a few people there. I guess I'm going so that I can say goodbye to her. I'll be leaving tomorrow morning." I say.
"Well, if Mason gives you any more lip tonight, then just leave. You shouldn't have to deal with that." He adds.
I'm not sure if I did the right thing by telling Jett about the argument I had with Mason. I was so angry when I left Boston's house the other night that I immediately called Jett. There was no one else I could talk to about it. However, I know that this is something he could use against me in the future.
"I know. I won't be over there long." I add. "Have you talked to Andrew?"
"No, not since he showed up at your apartment. Why?" he asks.
"I'm just curious." I say. "I figured you two would have made up by now."
"There's nothing else I need to say to him." He says plainly.
My mind flashes back to the day Jett surprised me here at my mother's house. I had no idea he was coming. He parked the car behind the house so I had no clue he was hidden inside. He still has Andrew's car. How is that going to work with them arguing?
"Okay, but what about his car?" I ask.
"What do you mean?" he speaks up.
"I mean, you and Andrew are obviously having some issues. I assume he's going to want his car back, don't you think?" I say.
