Chae frowned. "Not yet?"

"I mean, I still have my parents" Lisa chuckled. "But who knows, right?" She started to look around when they already entered the less crowded underground station, looking for directions on the sign boards. "Life is unexpected"

"I love that, Lisa" Chae replied shortly, causing Lisa to look at her instead.

"What?"

"Life is unexpected"

"Yeah, it's like, you have so many plans and goals for your life but suddenly..." Lisa stopped her sentence for a second when Chae had stopped walking all of the sudden. "It ends. Your life just ends. Time's up"

Chae Richards took a moment to stare at Lisa, thinking that this was by far the longest conversation she ever had with the detective. She had Lisa as her regular customer for more than a year but she never went more than just a casual chit chat at the food stall before. Having to talk about things that had deeper meanings with the woman made her didn't want the night to end.

It was their time together that Chae didn't want to end.

"But does it really?" She asked Lisa to know more about what the woman had in mind.

"What?"

"Does life truly end?"

"Absolutely. You die and that's it"

"That's it?"

"Yeah. You stop breathing and your body is buried"

Chae crossed her arms, leaning her back against the wall behind her as her eyes kept looking at the handsome woman.

"Don't you think your body is just a physical element, Lisa? It's a tool, just like that possessed doll?"

Lisa huffed, in a playful manner of course to be careful not to disrespect Chae's opinions or beliefs. Because the last thing Lisa would want to do was being the detective she was while she was hanging out with Chae.

And by that means, Lisa only accepted facts and evidences; physical things that she could see and feel.

"Are you talking about the soul?" Lisa gave her response to continue the conversation, sliding her hands into her jeans pockets.

"Yeah. When you die, your soul leaves this physical body and you move to the afterlife"

Nodding, Lisa hummed. "I heard about this story before"

"Lisa!" Chae slapped the woman's arm softly, laughing a little. "A story?! It's not a story!"

Lisa took the little steps she was nervous to make earlier, pushing herself to stand closer in front of Chae when she could feel that woman had started to be comfortable around her.

"Okay" Lisa chuckled. "So, what do you think about it?"

"I think that life is a never ending process. Even after you die in this dimension, you just continue living in a different dimension"

"Different dimension?" Lisa got even confused than before. "Like, different world? We have different worlds?"

"Correct. Different dimensions where the spirits, angels and demons live" Chae smiled when she caught Lisa just took another step closer to her. "Heaven and hell" She cleared her throat. "And God"

Lisa pushed her lips inwards, pressing them tight to restrain herself from laughing. She never wanted to laugh so bad before and finally, as a serious and strict person she was, she felt like her chest would burst.
