I went to bed later at night after working alone for the whole day. Yesterday was my day off and I spent it to visit my dad, so today was Natalie's turn. Thank God there weren't many people, considering it was a working day. Having to meet Lisa again before I closed down the stall was good enough for me, so I decided to finally rest my eyes since I hadn't slept ever since I traveled. I had been in this universe for 6 days, and 144 were the amount of hours I had been awake. My head was really hurt, my vision had started to spin and I felt like vomiting the dinner I had earlier.
That was when I knew this traveling thing without sleeping could damage the host, and I was capable of feeling the side effects of it. All the drowsiness and confusions, I felt everything was just like how I would feel them in my own body if this host was mine. So I thought it was better if I just slept and traveled back to where I came from; my old life that was painful to live in. I couldn't remember how long I stared into space until the sleepiness pulled me away from this perfect universe, but I was certain it was quick.
I opened my eyes and the clock on my bedside table was the first thing that came to my view. I remembered the time I left the shower, it was 1 o'clock in the morning when Natalie caught me. I went to sleep right after I put my clothes on without any delay, and after 6 days of traveling, I woke up to number 7 on the clock.
Realising how fast the time worked in the other universe, I sighed to the fact that I had been sleeping for at least 6 hours. Having to know about the actual time calculation; 1 hour here was equivalent to 1 day in there was just mind-blowing, and now I had new worries to be concerned about. At the moment, I had another 16 hours to go before my next sleeping time arrived, presumably at 11 p.m. and I was about to waste 16 days without traveling. That was more than 2 weeks!
What's going to happen in those 16 days?
What would I be missing?
Could I catch up?
How's the Chae in there is going to treat Lisa?My mind was flooded with those questions and I wasn't at peace at all. The reason for me being this restless was after my visit to Northamptonshire, I was sure that I couldn't trust that Chae. I knew nothing about her, and my main fear was if she managed to like Lisa the way I did. There were so many possibilities that she wasn't similar as me, so to think about her not liking the things I liked or not doing things the way I would, triggered the bell in my brain.
Sighing, I left the bed in hurry and exited the bedroom. My legs took me to the noise I heard as it came from downstairs and it stopped when I entered the kitchen.
"Nat..." I replaced the sound of the blender with my voice. "Good morning"
"Good morning," She responded. "Are you sober now?"
I groaned instantly. "How many times should I- I wasn't drunk!"
"Keep your shirt on!" Natalie laughed. "I'm just fucking with you"
Joining her laughter, I was glad she found her morning entertainment, at least.
"Smoothie?" She continued with a question before she turned the blender back on.
"No, thank you" I smiled, taking one of the empty chairs at the dining table. "I'll make sandwiches later"
She took a moment of not talking, pouring her usual breakfast smoothie into a glass and then she returned her eyes to mine.
"Are you alright?"
"Not really," I answered. "Would you mind handling the stall alone today?"
"Are you sick?" Natalie ran a little towards me with worries that were so obvious, and she put her hand against my forehead. "No fever"
