Chapter 530: training and cookouts

The next morning Justin and Autumn woke up when the alarm went off.

"I have to go to Madison and Kris's.   To drop off Nikita and Noelle and we are training together." Justin says.

"That is fine baby.  I want to go over and help Madison.   She is having her cookout again this year and we need to make food." Autumn says.

"Okay great." Justin replies.

They both get up and get dressed.   Autumn puts on a pair of lounge capris and a shirt.   Justin puts on his workout clothes.   Autumn gets JJ and Holly while Justin gets Nikita and Noelle.   They carry them out to the car and buckle them in.    They then get in and head to Madison and Kris's.   Fifteen minutes later  Justin and Autumn arrived.    They head into the house.   Justin carried Noelle, Nikita and JJ and Holly into the game room and laid them down with the rest of the kids.

"Hey guys. "Autumn says.

"Hey lets head to the kitchen and make food for later." Nadia says.

"Yeah that is a good idea." Taylor says.

"Let's go we have a lot to do." Autumn says.

"Yes we do and a lot of food to be made." Anna says.

"Yes we do." Madison says.

They all head into the kitchen.    They start to make food.

"So Sarah is bringing some kind of desert, Kayla is bring a few different dips, Kelsey is bringing chips, salsa and queso, Jared's wife is bringing rolls and condiments and Nick and his wife are bringing plates, utensils, cups, napkins, sodas, water, beer and wine." Nadia says.

"Sounds good to me.    We have burgers and dogs ready to go along with steaks." Madison says.

"I can make my meatballs, macaroni salad and cole slaw." Autumn says.

"And I can make my chili for the dogs, seven layer salad and potato salad." Taylor says.

"Great.   I will make deviled eggs, taco dip, and cucumber salad." Madison says.

"And  I will my lasagna and a few other things.   Also I am having steamed crabs and shrimp delivered from a resutrant we used to go to when we were in Baltimore for residency. "Nadia says.

They all nod and get to work making the food. 

Meanwile the guys head out for a nice run.    They run a total of 8 miles.   They then arrive back to Kris's and head to his gym where they do a vigorous workout before heading to the ice to shoot some pucks.

"Thanks for having us and the gang over for a cookout." Justin says.

"Anytime.   You guys are like family. "Kris says.

"Yes this is true.   We are a family. "Jake says.

"Yes we are. " Sid says.

"Yes are" Geno says.

They go out and shoot pucks just having fun.   Finally they all head to get showers.     When they finish they all meet in the kitchen where the girls were still working.

"What do you need us to do?" Kris asks.

"Yeah we are at your service. "Sid says.

"Get the yard set up with tables and games.   Then get the kids up dressed and ready.   Everyone will be here at 2. "Madison says.

"Got it." Jake says.

"Then once that is done Kris and Sid can start grilling. "Nadia says.

"Got it." Justin replies.

"Yes." Geno says.

The guys head outside and set the yard up.   They then get the kids up dressed and ready for the cookout.   They were out playing in the yard waiting for everyone.    Kris and Sid set up the grill and begin to cook.   The girls set up everything in like a buffet style.    The guys finished grilling just as everyone started to arrive.    Once everyone was there they sit down and start to eat.

"Thanks for having us over." Erick says.

"Yes it is really sweet of you guys." Sarah says.

"Welcome to the Penguin family." Madison says.

"So Taylor is it true you gave birth in a closet?" Kayla asks.

"Yes, On Sid's birthday none the less." Taylor says.

"Wow that had to be scary. "Brian replies.

"It was.  I was holding onto a shelf scared out of my mind. "Taylor says.

"I bet.   I pray to god that don't happen to me." Kayla says.

"I hope not either.    Or I hope you don't give birth on the runway during a game. "Madison says.

"Oh my god I remember that." Nadia says.

"Wait you gave birth at PPG Paints Arena?" Kayla asks Madison.

"Nope it was in Carolina." Madison says.

"Oh god." Kayla says.

"Okay enough with the birth horror stories." Kelsey says.

"Sorry." Madison says.

"It's okay just don't want to freak Kayla out even more." Kelsey says.

"But at the end of the day the babies were all fine so it won't matter. "Autumn says.

"True." Anna says.

They talk a little more getting to know Sara and Leighann and Melody and welcoming them to the crazy Penguins family.   They played games, got in the pool with the kids and the guys even played some hockey on the rink.    All in all everyone had a fun day.    The guys help clean up the tables and games before they head inside due to the rain.    Everyone leaves until it was just the gang left.   The girls get the kids all changed and into bed.    They didn't nap so they went down easy.

"Anyone up for a game of poker?" Geno asks.

"Sure that will be fun." Kris says.

"I am down. "Justin says.

"Me too." Jake replies.

"Let's get it." Sid says.

The guys set up poker.   The girls get snacks and beer for the guys and wine for them.    They then join them at the table and Geno deals.     They play a few rounds before everyone decides to call it a night.

"I am thinking if weather is good we should take the kids to the zoo tomorrow." Anna says.

"We can I work.   So I can give you guy a behind the scenes tour." Autumn replies.

"Awesome.   The kids will love that and something fun before homeschooling begins." Nadia says.

"Yes, Micah and Olivia have school on Tuesday, and we are starting Noelle, Joey and Sidney along with Miracle and Angel in preschool so to speak.   We are teaching them French as well as English and other things." Madison says.

"Yes doing the same with  Krissy, Madison, Cole and my Sid." Nadia says.

"Never to early to start." Taylor says.

The guys clean up the game while the girls clean up the snacks and stuff.    They then all head to bed.   Justin and Autumn check on JJ, Holly and Noelle finding them all sleeping.    They then head up to bed.   They get ready and climb in.

"I am so happy to get this season started." Justin says.

"I know baby and you will have the best season ever." Autumn says.

"I hope so.   Hope its better then last season." Justin replies.

"Me too.   I am wrapping you in bubble wrap." Autumn says.

"Ha will be hard to play with it." Justin says.

"I know.   I just want you to stay safe. "Autumn says.

"I will baby." Justin says.

"Good." Autumn says.

They make love a few times before falling into a much needed sleep.
