Emily's POV

The door opened and my father sat in his chair, which looked like a kings throne. Just in white with a golden template. He stood up and looked me in the eyes. I already felt tears rolling down my cheeks. He came closer to me and placed his right hand on my left cheek. I pulled him into a tight hug. He immediately hugged me back. I could tell that he was crying too. Tyler also came closer and wrapped his arms around us. We stayed like that for a few minutes and then pulled away.

"My dear daughter... I can't believe I can hold you in my arms again. I never thought I would be able to do this again. I missed you so much."

"Dad, I'm sorry but I need to get out of here. It's too much for me." With that said I ran out the door. I kept running until a figure appeared in front of me.

"Emily! What happened?", Tyler asked in confusion.

"I- It was suddenly too much. I couldn't handle it at the moment. I hope dad doesn't think I ran because of him."

"No. He already figured that you would be overwhelmed."

"Good. The least I want is that he thinks I'm not happy to see him."

"He knows that. We can take a walk to clear your head if you want. I can show you around."

"Yeah. That would be great."

We started walking towards what looked like a park. There were lots of angels and also children. Which confused me a lot. Could they also have children in heaven? I thought they were all dead. At least they looked all rather happy. One of those people caught my attention. His blue eyes. I could see them through every crowd. It was him. Tyler could see that I practically stared at him. My thoughts were interrupted when Tyler spoke up.

"Should I introduce you to him?"

I felt myself blushing. "Do you know him?" Of course he does if he offered me to introduce us. Stupid me.

"Yeah I know him pretty well actually. He is one of my closest friends since Im here. On my first day he showed me around."

"That was really nice of him."

"Soo... Do you wanna meet him?"

"I-I dont know. What if I embarrass myself or act like a fool?"

"You will be fine."

Tyler and I walked over to him. Now that I see him clearer he looked even better than I imagined. I got more nervous with every step we made. Tyler walked up to him and greeted him with a bright smile.

"Hey Patrick. I wanted you to meet my sister Emily."

"Hi", I said quietly.

"Hey", he responded with a warm smile on his face.

"Emily, I have to go back to father. You will be fine."

How can he just leave me alone with him? Who does he think he is? Oh next time I see him I will kill him myself. I stood there and said nothing. I couldn't. I was just too nervous.

"So, Emily, you are the sister Tyler sacrificed his life for?", he asked in a rather sympathetic tone.

"Yes, I am. I still can't believe he did that for me."

"Everybody would have done that for a lovely person like you."

I grew into a deep shade of red. I tried to hide it with my long brown hair. But with no luck. He saw it and smiled brighter than before.

"You're really cute when you're blushing."

Now I got even redder. How embarrassing. I managed to stammer the following words "Thank you."

"You don't need to be so shy. I think you are beautiful. You don't need to be ashamed."

"Thank you. That's nice of you to say. I just- Never ever said anything like that to me. This is all so new to me."

"That's fine. He smiled at me. I want to tell you something about me, but I only will tell you if you tell me something about you."

"Okay." I was curious and scared at the same time. I have no idea what he is going to tell me.

"Okay. I will tell you how I got here. I had a sister. Her name was Katherine. She was 10 when it all happened. She played in the front yard with her ball, which I bought her. I played with her. I threw the ball over, but she didn't catch it. It rolled onto the street and she ran after it. I called out to her to stop but she didn't listen. A car came out of nowhere and I ran after her. I got hit by the car instead of her. Katherine came away unharmed. I got to a hospital and died a short time after. I was seventeen when it happened. I don't know whats up with my family since then. I haven't had the chance to pay them a visit."

Wow. I don't know what to say. I feel so sorry for him, but I also don't want to pity him.

"I don't know what to say. But I can assure you that you are brave. You saved your sisters life. I know if you had the chance of saving someone you love again you wouldn't hesitate to do so. I admire that about you."

"Thank you, Emily. I miss Katherine so much. I wonder what my parents told her since Im not there anymore."

"I bet they told her how brave you were. How you saved her life. How much you love her. And a lot more."

"You are very kind, you know that? Ive never met someone like you. You are the first one, except your brother, who said that wasn't stupid of me to run after her."

"I would've done the same for my brother. I love him more than anything else in the universe."

"He is special. I noticed that. He gives even the worst ones up here a chance. He believes in the good in everyone."

"He's always been like that. That's one of the thousand reasons why I love him."

Patrick suddenly hid his hands behind his back. I was blinded by a bright white light. I couldn't see anything. After the light disappeared, I saw him holding a light purple rose in his hands. He held it out to me. I took it and thanked him with a bright smile.

"This flower is incredibly beautiful."

"Just like you."

I blushed hard this time. The rose lit up into a dark purple colour. It looked breathtaking.

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry that it took me so long to update. I had my first big exam this week and studied like an idiot. But I passed it! Now I'm able to update more often. I hope you liked this chapter as much as I do. So, what do you guys think about Patrick? Can he be trusted? Or is he just a charming young man?
