A few days later
Patrick's POV
During the past few days happened a lot of things: First, this fucked up and weird guy named Wyatt came up here. I recently found out that he's a wizard, which means I could convince him to help me, if there wasn't this little problem of his. At least I'm sure he won't be a threat to me. Additionally, Tyler abonded me but I don't know why. I tried to talk to him but he gave me the cold shoulder. However, Emily still talked to me. Maybe Tyler overheard my conversation on the phone a few days ago? Whatever. If he heard it then he would have told Emily and she would have stopped talking to me, which she didn't. Now I have to go and look for Tyler to find out if he knows or not.
I opened my bedroom door and stepped outside. I walked across the house to the front door, opened it and locked it after I was outside. I found him pretty easily because most of the time he's at the park. I walked up to him and tapped on his shoulder to get his attention. When he turned around he rolled his eyes at me.
"What do you want, Patrick?"
"No need to be so cold Tyler. I didn't do anything to you-"
"Just shut up. I overheard your conversation on the phone the other day."
"Why so mad then? I thought you told her everything by now."
"I told her but she didn't believe me. Why do you even bother?" After he said that I started laughing at him. Emily is so stupid. She believes me but not her brother? Pathetic.
"Well, good luck with that." I said and walked away.
Tyler's POV
Who does he think he is? I need to talk to Emily again and make her believe me and not him. The last few days she spent a lot of time with Wyatt because he's still weak from the little incident. Emily also improved her and dad's relationship and they grew closer. She seemed to have forgiven him for not trying to contact her in any way.
I made my way to the palace to my father's office. Emily and Wyatt stayed there until she decides to go home again then he will stay with me. I know the idea is not the greatest but our father needs peace and quiet to organize an event, which takes place in one month from now on. As the gate came into view, I called Emily to come outside. She walked out of the palace and looked really annoyed.
"What do you want now? Tell me again how stupid I am to fall for his lies?"
"If you don't want to believe me fine! Don't come crying when he hurts you. I told you he's planning something." I paused and took a deep breath. "At least be careful." I said and waited for her to say something, which she didn't. Instead she walked away angrily without looking back.
Wyatt's POV
"Thank you so much for letting me stay here Mr. Watkins. I appreciate it."
"It's not a big deal. By the way call me Jake." He said and smiled at me. I returned the smile and continued reading a book, which Jake gave me. The book itself was confusing and weird at the beginning but started to get clearer the further I got.
While I read I didn't notice Emily bursting into the room and shouting something. I just ignored her because she doesn't care about me either. I was startled when Jake suddenly spoke up louder than usual.
"What's going on with you and Tyler lately? You always seem pissed at him for no reason. Either tell me and we can solve the problem together or keep it down with your fighting and clear it up like adults." He stated in a serious tone.
"Fine. It's about Tyler's former best friend Patrick. He keeps telling me that he's up to something and wants to hurt me." Ugh why does she bother to care about that freak. The arguing started after my breakdown but she doesn't seem to care that Tyler just tries to protect her from getting hurt. I'm not just saying that because I like him but it's the truth. Emily still didn't shut up, which caused me to shout at her.
"Shut up before I make you! You keep complaining about Tyler but you don't do anything about it! If you want to know for sure if Patrick is lying to you then pay attention and be careful. Now shut the fuck up and let me read in peace." I screamed at her. She was taken aback at my sudden outburst but in a matter of seconds her bitchy attitude was back on.
"You have nothing to say in this. You shouldn't be so mean in case you forgot who found you in the forest."
"For your information I didn't need you guys to find me. I can recover by myself in case you forgot I'm a wizard. I was just lucky you let me stay with you. And yes I'm grateful for that. If you would have ignored me, I've had a lot of options where I could stay."
"I hate you."
"Don't worry, the feeling's mutual and will always be that way. Now go wherever you want, so I don't have to see your face anymore. Thank you very much." I gave her a fake smile, which caused her to leave the room with a mad expression on her face.
I tried to be nicer to her but she keeps insulting me and I don't know why. When I had my breakdown I always told her that I was glad she stayed with me but she always responded with 'whatever' or 'I don't care what you think'. Since she found out that I had feelings for her brother, she's even more horrid to me than she was before. I know I wasn't the nicest person from the beginning but she always managed to top my statements. What I still don't completely understand is why Emily doesn't want to trust Tyler about Patrick. He overheard Patrick on the phone and she keeps calling her own brother a liar.
I'm so sorry I didn't update for a while. I was caught up in distance learning and had to finish my diploma thesis. How are you doing despite the quarantine? A big thank you to everyone who reads this story. Have a nice day :). Love you ♥️
