I WOKE UP TO THE SOUND OF MY ALARM RINGING...
I groaned irritated, honestly wishing I had more time for rest and sleep. I was still so tired. Usually I can go on almost forever without sleep but I can't do that anymore because Im mortal now.
Unwilling to open my eyes, I forced myself to make the slightest move and turned to lay down on my side. It was the most I could do and it was already a huge achievement I turned at all. If I didn't care about being late, I would've stayed as still as a corpse.
I slammed the alarm clock off. As my fist ended its incessant beeping, I expected it to shatter in pieces like the millions of alarm clocks I've ruined before. I was shocked when it remained intact and the bones of my fingers felt like they were the ones that shattered. I grimaced not in pain, but more so that Im reminded of the fact that I've lost my immortality along with my goddess strength.
My temper getting the best of me, I let out a frustrated shout and grabbed the alarm and threw it on the wall across the room successfully breaking it. I glared at its shattered pieces on the floor and pulled fistfuls of my hair, almost tearing them out from the roots.
I'm honestly glad Harriet isn't rooming with me anymore and roomed with Dizzy instead so she wouldn't have to wake up to this. It was decided that it would be better if I had my privacy all to myself and be able to have my own space in my dorm after everything that happened.
I calmed myself and my breathing the best that I could and soon removed my hands from my hair when I noticed it was terribly tangled. I immediately rushed to the bathroom and turned on the lights staring at the monstrosity in the mirror. Me.
My hair looked like hellhound crap. It was all tangled and frizzy and all over the place with the strands sticking out and flying away. This is the moment where I questioned why Harry bothers dating me for four lifetimes.
I took the brush and started combing my hair aggressively trying to get it under control. I only get more agitated. No luck whatsoever. I sighed and went out on the halls hoping no one was up yet. Especially not Harry in the room across the hall. He can't see me like this. I made my small ninja moves to Evie and Mal's shared dorm room next to mine. I hurriedly knocked on their door and didn't stop knocking until Evie open the door.
Once she saw me she let out a tiny gasp and an amused teasing face. "Good morning you ray of sunshine" she then noticed my hair and gasped almost in horror. "Oh my...."
"Yeah. 'Oh my' is correct now would you please just help me with this stupid mop on my head E? Its terribly unmanageable"
"It used to never be like that"
"Well yeah that was when my hair was fire and through my powers, easily styled into place but now I'm lost. Please help me out?"
Evie nodded and said "Yeah just one sec, I'm going to wake up Mal and we'll both head on over to your room once we're dressed. Why don't you take a shower first while you're waiting?"
I sighed being absolutely done with life and everything in it. "Yeah ok fine"
I head on back to the bathroom to take a shower as Evie suggested. I slightly shivered when my feet touched the cold tile floors. It used to not affect me before because I barely even felt it with my fire and all that so it came as a bit of a shock.
This day couldn't get any weirder or shocking.
I guess I jinxed myself when I thought that because as I was in the process of undressing myself, I saw something that scared me half to death. I love the irony here really. I literally screamed bloody murder and jumped back in fright.
