HYACINTH'S POV
Dad and I pull up to my two story vintage style cabin, located a couple miles East of the Castle. Since we graduated, I moved out of my dorm in Auradon prep. With all the graduation cash Dad gifted me with and my savings from working as Ben's adviser and from my small upstart singing career, I have been able to have enough to buy this handsome piece of property.
I acquired a good acre or so of land, rich with raw nature. I did not necessarily need a gate since the property was well in the woods and private for the most part. There were tall pine trees that provided a cool shade in warm summer days and flowers that blossomed beautifully every spring along with bushes and shrubs of fruit that I did not plant, but can simply enjoy. It was my own little haven.
The inside of my home, I kept decorated the way how I would decorate, in a sort of gothic vintage style with dark drapes and silver candlesticks. It basically looks like you can have a Halloween party here every time of the year and I liked it like that. Apparently so does Dad.
As I led him into the living room, he looked around the place and hummed in approval. He plopped down on the black leather couch. "Nice place you got here" he complimented.
"Thanks Dad. Decorated it myself. Evie helped along with Dizzie. They are great designers" I replied.
I was just coming back from the kitchen with a tray of two glasses and a pitcher of water. I poured the water and offered a glass to my Dad. He took it and stared at the glass with a weirded out look.
"Water?" He questioned titling the glass to see if I actually served him that. "Since when did you drink water? You used to drink mostly just wine"
I laugh dryly, sitting down beside him and taking a sip from my glass before setting it down on the coffee table. "Yeah well that was until I became mortal and learned they get such a thing as liver problems if they drink too often"
"Ah" Dad nodded setting his glass down and stretching his legs, leaning comfortably on the couch. "You and Harry sleep in different rooms here or separate rooms?"
The question didn't faze me. Just like Dad to ask stuff like that "Dad, Harry and I dont live together here" I admitted.
He sat up looking surprised at the news "What really? Why not?"
I simply shrug saying "He's rooming with Carlos, Jay, Gil, and his brother for now and we dont think we are ready to live together yet"
Dad scoffed with an amused look on his face. "Not ready? You've been married in his past life"
"Yeah well that was the past. Now's different" I said with a small sad smile, lowering my head and looking down on my lap.
I'm not an idiot. Well... not a complete idiot. I know things are a bit rough right now with me and Harry because I'm not spending enough time with him but once I get the Fleece I'll make up for all time lost. I just hoped he understands how important it is to me.
I then shook my head to get me out of my reverie about my complicated death and life again relationship and turn to Dad "So are we now going to talk about what we actually came here to talk about?"
"Yep" he responds popping the 'p' at the end. "Since I can't do it, you give Beast boy the supposed "dad talk". I trust you can make it as bone chilling as I'd like it to be. You're a Hadens after all"
I rolled my eyes at him. "Why not just tell her?"
"I will tell her!" He exclaimed. I raised an eyebrow at that. He gave a small pause before adding "In the proper time"
"Pray do tell then father when is this so called proper time, because you said the exact same thing when I first went up to the Isle and met her" I questioned him sarcastically.
He gives the infamous Hades glare but of course that didn't scare me one bit. I have that glare too and I decide to use it now as well. Ah look we match. Like father like daughter.
"Look Dad if youre not gonna tell Mal the truth I will take matters into my own hands, believe me. I will tell her" I warned him.
I would've gotten grounded for this when I was 200 but I'm 5000 something something now and you're pretty much not a Hadens unless you have guts to threat your own Dad like this.
"You will do no such thing Hyacinth Hadens" Dad reprimanded in a stern tone, pointing a finger at me.
I breathed in, deeply inhaling, before sighing. "Look, Dad, even if I dont tell her, the signs will show. She's already starting to get the blue streaks in her hair. I cant keep a secret like this any longer. She's not just my sister, she's my best friend"
Dad looked down at his boots, thinking deeply. He shook his head saying "There's no easy way to do this"
"I don't think there ever was, but Mal deserves to know who her father is" I responded with conviction.
It ate me up every time Mal would mention not knowing her father or said stuff like she sees me as a sister when we are legit actually half sister. It makes me feel awkward inside and I just want the truth out already.
"Fine" Dad sighed in resignation. "I promise I will tell her after we find the Fleece"
I nodded in satisfaction. We both stood up from the couch and shared a short hug. Dad stepped away from the couch and I led him outdoors. We stood on the front porch, greeted by Cerberus who stayed with me here to take guard of the house.
Dad handed me a long necklace of pristine black pearls. "You know what those are for. Visit me and your mother any time"
"Of course Dad" I said gratefully taking the gift in my hand and pulling him in for another hug. "Take care Dad"
"You too dark flower" he replied with a small smile, breaking the hug "Apollo and I leave from Underworld in a couple days so make sure to visit beforehand"
I nodded noiselessly as he walked away from porch to the solid earth.
He was a good distance away from the house when he shouted, "You give him the Dad talk alright?"
I rolled my eyes and shouted back a yes.
With one more nod and a wave good bye, he engulfed himself in blue violet flames and disappeared, leaving the ground blackened and smoking from the heat.
