Hi everyone! This is my first author's message to anyone who might be reading. I hope you're enjoying getting to know the characters. This is mainly a filler chapter to get an idea of Aunt Clair's character and the difference between the household environments and because I wanted to spend more time with Aunt Clair. I'm trying to add in more scenes with her because I adore the persona she's taken on in this story. If you're liking this story so far I always appreciate likes, shares, and especially comments!

It was safe to say I had never been to my Aunt's house before. My parents never let me leave with her and we couldn't meet in secret without them questioning my every move. The outside was nice. The yard had green grass and lots of flowers planted around the perimeter. The driveway was made of flat stone with neutral colors and had a path that led to the front door.

There was a two-car garage which she parked in front of. The front of the house had a nice sized porch area with seats and a table. The house itself was made of thick stones on the first floor and had a cream color on the second floor. The top of the garage was fenced and had an open area to sit around. I couldn't see much from down here.

"Your mother is under the impression that I can't afford a nice place because I'm a tattoo artist." She said with a roll of her eyes before getting out of the car, "But I can't take all the credit, my roommate helps a lot with bills."

"Roommate?" I asked surprised as I followed suit.

She nodded, "He should be home in a few hours so you can meet him. Don't worry he knows you're moving in. He's excited to finally meet you." she said with a chuckle, "I'll give you a tour before we get your things."

I followed her to the house and she unlocked the door. "I'll have a key made for you this weekend." She said as we walked in.

The first thing you saw when you walked in was the stairs to your left and what I assumed was the living room to your right. One set of stairs led up and the one next to the right of them led down. Both were secured with a black railing with roses in the design. The stairs had a cream-colored carpet but the living room was made with cherry wood flooring.

The living room had black faux leather sofas that fit together to make in an L shape. When I walked further in, I saw the flat-screen TV that was mounted on the wall. It wasn't a small TV but it wasn't gigantic either. Underneath was a glassed encased fireplace. There was a glass coffee table in the middle with coasters and a decorative black, white, and cream-colored vase.

Behind the sofa was a bar that attached the living room to the kitchen. From what I could see of the kitchen the cabinets were all black and the stone countertops were a cream color. The walls in both rooms were an off white; not quite cream-colored but not a grey color either. The barstools were black with white cushions and were the perfect height. The appliances in the kitchen were stainless steel to complete the look. I could barely see the outline of a door to the left of the kitchen but couldn't see much else.

"Do you like it?" my aunt asked.

I nodded, "It's very nice." I said as I continued looking at my surroundings.

"For the most part my roommate pays the pills and I pay the mortgage. The furniture is both of our things and we haven't decided who will keep what. We both split the costs so we'll have to end up paying the rest to whoever takes it." She explained. "It works out for both of us because the bills pretty much equal what I pay on the house so it gives us both the opportunity to put extra money in our savings."

"I think that was a good idea. This is really nice Aunt Clair."

"Thanks!" she chirped, "Come this way. I'll show you the dining room and backyard first." She said walking towards the kitchen. I followed behind her.
