"You know Barbie-doll, you really aren't that bad", I smiled.

"Thanks for giving me your approval Miss Perfect", Adrianus rolled his eyes.

We continued walking and we learnt more about each other. He is extremely argumentative. Unfortunately, so am I. I'm really not used to someone challenging me... but it was all in good fun this time. No venom, no nothing. Just 2 people that have completely different views of the world.

"So Callisto", Adrianus began.
I looked at him, waiting for him to continue his sentence.

"Are we... are we cool now? Friends?"

I continued looking at him. I was not expecting that. Friends is a start, right?

"Yeah, of course. Underneath the arrogance, and the cocky-ass, there is a sweet man underneath that. I have to admit, I like the sweet guy more."

Adrianus grinned.

"Oh Callisto, if people didn't have layers, they would be so boring! You wouldn't need to spend time with them to figure them out or such. That's what makes people people."

I smiled.

"And what do you see about me?"

He thought before answering, " there is more to you than meets the eye. You can be nice, but honestly, you are more of a kickass girl than I give you credit for."

I did NOT see that coming.

"Do you... do you really mean that?" I whispered.

Adrianus gave me a warm smile, " I have no reason to lie. Besides, you're the first girl who has ever talked back to me. I have no need to play nice, and fool around when you can see almost right through me."

"Yeah, um..."

Adrianus started laughing.

" yeah, I know what you thought of me, and you were completely right to think that. I didn't think you would say it right to my face though. Most girls find that part of me attractive. Apparently I'm attracted to the type of girl who can speak their mind."

Hold on...

"Are you saying that you found me attractive, or am I..."

Adrianus looked at me tenderly.

"I thought I'd just screw around with you, but you and your very being wouldn't allow that. And as I got to argue with you, I tested your responses. You really are one of a kind, and I like that. I like you. I like you a lot, I want to be there to figure you out, keep you safe, let you live your life. Even if I do figure you out, there is only one of you. And I want to say that, the one of a kind girl, is someone I want my best friend to be, and someone I respect, and cherish. I like you. Even if we've only know of each other for about 2 weeks at most."

I honestly did not know what to say. He was honest with me and that is something I value.

I like him. I like everything. He's argumentative side. I know if he would fight with me, he would argue to the death for me. He can make me laugh, and be there for me to talk to about my problems, and vice-versa...

"Adrianus. I really want to take is slow"

His face looked at me, as if he didn't expect me to say something.

"I like you, you're different, you challenge me, stimulate me, and honestly, you're definitely something worth living for. I want to figure you out too, and be with you. I must warn you, I've never done anything like this before. I'm sorry for any mistakes on my part now." I softly smiled.

Adrianus hugged me. Me, being the short thing I am, could here his heart beat. It was pleasant.

"Thank you, Callisto. For giving me a chance. I promise, I won't let you down"

I hugged him back. It felt as if we were the only two people in the world.
