She felt eyes watching her as she headed up the stairs. The Crystal Gems hated her, hopefully Steven didnt feel the same way. He seemed fine when the Diamonds took her away to Homeworld a while ago, maybe he changed his mind and hates her now.

Taking a deep breath, Spinel entered Steven's room. He was the first thing she saw. Steven was sitting on his bed, a few papers laid next to him on the bed and a laptop sitting on his lap. But he wasn't paying attention to the device, he was staring out the window.

"No. I don't need any he-" he turned around and saw the small pink gem. "Spinel? I didn't see you- why are you here?"

Spinel nervously picked at her fingers. "I just need some advice... if you're not busy."

Steven looked down at the papers around him and the computer. "I am. But we can still talk," he tapped on the blanket his with hand, motioning her to sit down.

Spinel did so, immediately liking the soft fabric. "I'm having trouble with some gems on Homeworld. A lot of them don't like how I sit on Pink's throne with the Diamonds. They don't want me- they want you," there was a long moment of silence as the two didnt know what the say. "I can't be like you! I can't make everyone love and look up to me like they do to you. I like ruling Homeworld, but I can't do it if everyones trying to shatter me!"

"They've tried to shatter you?" Steven repeated. "What do the Diamonds do?"

Spinel rolled her eyes. "Well you know how they are now. So nice and nieve. They just give these announcements to leave me alone but they won't- can't get rid of them! They dont believe in poofing or shattering gems anymore so I just have to keep fighting for myself!"

"The Diamonds... have never told me about this. I've never heard them talk about it either. Are you sure the Diamonds actually make a speech about this or they just say they will?" Steven asked. "Not to be rude to the Diamonds or anything, they seem to be slacking on their whole duty as a Diamond."

Spinel lowered her head. "Yeah. And it's showing."

Steven set his laptop to the side. "How? The last time I've actually been on Homeworld was sometime last summer."

"Everything is out of place. Out of order. Since they don't section their gems anymore by color they all get to choose where they want to go."

"What is so bad about that?"

"Nothing. That's just some of it. The missions are what is slowly ruining Homeworld. Now gems are free to take any mission they want, or not do anything at all. So what do you think gems are going to do? Nothing. Nothing is even getting done anymore. I never see spaceships flying in the air or Quartz solders guarding their gem. Even worse, the Quartz gems are the laziest, they won't take their mission to protect a more rare gem so they can go on missions! It's not worth getting attacked all the time just to rule Homeworld! It's a mess!" Spinel said flinging her noodle arms in the air.

"I... didn't realize it was that bad. I should go talk to them," Steven said off his bed and headed towards the stairs. "Are you coming?"

Spinel nodded, closely following behind the human gem. At first she thought they would be able to leave the temple without anyone saying a word, but only in a perfect world. The whole gang was there.

"Steven, where are you going?" Garnet asked.

"I'm going to Homeworld. I need to-"

"What about your schoolwork?" Garnet added.

"I'll be quick. I just need to ask the Diamonds a favor," Steven said.

"And what about her?" Peridot asked.
