"Why haven't you changed yet?" Rose asked, slightly pulling Spinel's pink tails. "You can't see Pink Diamond like this."

"I know, I know," Spinel said. It's been a few days since they went back in time, a few weeks before Pink abandoned her. Luckily Pink hasn't arrived to the garden yet, giving Spinel time to change back to her old self. But for some reason she hasn't yet. The scenery was supposed to change her back, according to Ellie's friend, Rose. But it never happened yet.

Rose sighed. "What are we going to do? What if Pink shows up and you're... like this? I thought you'd change when you got here? Wasn't this your favorite place to play?"

"It was..." Spinel corrected. "I just can't get it out of my head that in a few days I'm going to relive Pink abandoning me."

"Hey," Rose placed her thick hand on Spinel's shoulder. "Don't worry. She won't, because I'll be Pink Diamond before that day even arrives. And I won't abandon you. This plan will work smoothly, trust me."

"How do you know?"

"Well, I don't see our future selves storming to us, trying to stop us from doing our plan? I don't see how any of this can even go wrong-"

"It can. Even though we're gonna reset Pink Diamond, she's still going to be silly... in a way. She would bring her Pebbles to the meetings with the Diamonds and try her hardest to hide them, even though she knew she was breaking the rules. She was caught, and left in the dark for six months- that's why she hasn't come... she's still in there! I remember!" she slammed a fist on her palm. "It all makes sense! When she got in trouble, it probably made her snap... she wanted to change and be a real Diamond! Probably why she left me, she was broken. And Earth was an escape for her, so it's not Pink we should be changing, it's the Diamonds!"

Suddenly she flung backwards and onto the ground. Rose hovered over her threateningly. "I knew we should have left you behind! You're just going to ruin everything!" Rose let out a deep sigh, and pulled something from her back pocket.

"No! Wait-!" she leaped in the air, just missing the gem rejuvenator swinging at her. "ARE YOU INSANE?!"

"I will do anything to keep this plan going! It's going to fix the entire universe! You don't understand the things Pink Diamond will discover! How we even got here...! Pink Diamond will be the greatest Diamond! We will advance like you will never imagine! Ellie said so, she had a vision during the war. She wasn't a wuss, she just had a vision and decided to turn things around. She knew she'd find you... many years later... but look, it all worked out in the end. And look! So far, it's going smoothly. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a Diamond to kill," Rose put the weapon away, and walked towards the warp pad. "Why did I waste my time with you? You can't do anything anyway."

"I want to poof her," Spinel said, standing up.

Rose immediately stopped in her tracks. "...What?"

"You heard me," Spinel crossed her arms over her chest angrily. "I'm still mad at her. I want to hurt her, but I don't want to kill her. I never had an excuse to do that yet."

A small wicked smile appeared on Rose's face. "Well, I guess so. It's not part of the plan, but why not? But why should I trust you anyway?"

Spinel rolled her eyes and stretched her arms out, grabbing the handle of the rejuvenator before Rose realized. "Because I wanted to do this for a long time. I won't ever be able to do this again. Also, I know Pink like the back of my hand. I can teach you how she is so the Diamonds don't suspect anything when you take her place for awhile."

Rose squinted her eyes. "Fine. You can have-" she reached for her pocket, gasping when she realized it was missing. "Where is-"

Spinel swung it around like it was a toy. "Besides, I know how to use this thing well. You didn't exactly swing it right when you tried to attack me."
