Spinel felt herself falling. It happened so quickly she couldn't even gain her thoughts. She died and suddenly she's falling. Spinel screamed as loud as she could, but the wind silenced her. She stretched out her arms and legs as far as she could, hoping to grab onto something to catch her. Before she lost hope her right hand grazed a rock. Spinel quickly through her arms to the rock, feeling around for an edge to grab onto, but falling didn't make it easier. Finally she felt something and held on. She squeezed her hands as hard as she could until she stopped falling.
Giving herself time to catch her breath, she lifted herself up to the rock she was holding onto and let her body go limp as she plopped onto it. "Steven?" Spinel said even though she knew she wouldn't get an answer. "Where am I?" Her voice began to crack. Wherever she was it was dark and cold. She looked around, trying to see where she was through the darkness, but her vision was too blury. She squinted but it didnt make her vision better. It wasn't until she touched her gem when she realized what was wrong.
"Nonono..." she rubbed her gem, there was a crack right in the middle of her gem, no doubt. Spinel began to cry. Hot tears rolled down her cheeks. It was a familiar feeling she hated. She thought after going to Homeworld she would never feel this way again, but there is no such thing as happily ever afters.
"Someone help me! ANYONE PLEASE!" Spinel stood up, flinging her arms in the air looking for something else to grab onto. But it seemed like this rock was the only thing around... as if it were floating. She began to panic, running around the little rock looking for something... anything. "I'M SORRY FOR WHAT I DID JUST PLEASE HELP ME!!!" But the only answer she got was her own echo.
Spinel fell to her knees. She felt weak and tired. Was it from her gem being cracked or her just giving up? No one was here. No one was here to save her. Not Steven. Not the Diamonds. No one cared about her, as always ever since Pink Diamond abandoned her.
"I thought... I was I was doing good," Spinel dug her knuckles into the rock below her. "I thought I was finally happy." Spinel covered her mouth from crying aloud, even though nobody could hear. After a few moments of panicking and crying Spinel snapped. She got up, and starting kicking and punching the air. Cussing and screaming. It didn't matter. Nobody was even there. Spinel punched the rock she was standing on as hard as she could. It made a loud ringing noise that made her cry and cover her ears. The vibration went up her legs and torso, shaking her entire body. Spinel fell to the ground keeping her calm until the ringing stopped.
It was a rock. Rocks don't do that. Spinel quickly took off her gloves and rubbed the rock. It was cold and hard. It felt like a gemstone, but it wasn't. Putting her gloves back on, she rubbed her hands along the rock, finding the edge. She felt around the edge, realizing it was a wing. She hopped to the other side and felt the same thing, another wing. "A... a spaceship!" she cried out. Spinel immediately looked around for a window or a door, but her vision made it difficult. Finally she found a window, made a giant fist, and broke it.
When Spinel heard the glass breaking and falling inside the ship, she felt some kind of hope she'd get out of here. With no hesitation she hopped inside. The motion censored lights turned on and Spinel could see better. "Of course. It's just a Ruby Ship," Spinel said, looking around the ship. Ruby ships weren't exactly the best, but it should be good enough to get her out of here.
Spinel fiddled with the controls, she remembered her training in case something bad happened and she had to protect her Diamond. "Okay... and the launch button should be he-" as soon as she pressed it the ship went sailing upwards. Spinel fell to the ground. Her back felt like it was glued to the floor, unable to stand up from the ship moving so fast. Spinel tried to catch her breath as the ship did it's thing. The lights began flickering and there was a loud crash from outside the ship. "No..." Spinel whispered. More and more crashes, but the ship seemed to be okay so far. Suddenly scrapping noises as if someone was clawing on the outside of the ship.
Finally the ship began to slow down, and Spinel could stand up again. The Ruby ship made it to the right atmosphere to begin moving. You are all set, Ruby c-929. Please state your destination.
"Ha..." Spinel wobbled to the small chair in front of the broken window. "...homeworld," Spinel laid her head on the dashboard.
Destination. Homeworld. The ship started moving. The wind coming through the broken window made everything inside the ship fly around. Spinel kept her head on the dashboard, too dizzy to care about what was going on with the ship. She was so out of it she didn't realize the ship landed.
"What is that?" a small voice whispered.
Spinel lifted her head and looked around. A small group of gems were all investigating the wrecked ship. Spinel stretched herself and hobbled out of the ship, limping her way through the crowd. "S-Steven... anyone... Steven?"
A few of the gems seemed confused. "Steven Universe? Are you looking for him?"
"I-yeah!" Spinel rested her forehead in the palm of her hand. "Where..."
"I'm afraid he- wait are you Spinel?"
"Yeah..." she said without looking up.
"Steven is looking all over for you! His friend Lapis said you got into a fight with one of the gems that disagree with you and they took you away," the gem said.
"Yeah. That's right," Spinel said sarcastically. "I just really need to-" Spinel fell to her knees, clenching her gem.
"Oh my stars- someone get her help!"
She couldn't hear or see anything. Her ears started ringing and her vision got worse. She felt herself being lifted by strong arms and she couldn't remember anything that happened right after that.
