In The Future (Steven Universe)

○The Unknown Gem●

Spinel forgot about what Steven taught her about 'The Mountains.' Steven told her how cold they are and dangerous. And since it was so cold, it affected Spinel's powers. She couldn't stretch herself as far as she usually can. Now she can only stretch her limbs three feet.

This is bad, Spinel thought to herself. Where am I even going? Away from Steven... I can't go back to him, I'm just ruining everything for him.

A large stick cracking behind Spinel made her jump nearly ten feet high. "STAY BACK!" Spinel shouted behind her, making a giant fist.

In front of Spinel, there was a gem in the middle of tip toeing through the woods. The other gem lifted her hand up and pointed to above Spinel.

"Huh?" Spinel looked up, face to face with a corruption. It opened it's large mouth, reveling a hundred set of teeth. Spinel screamed, running away as fast as she could.

The corruption was right on her tail
It looked like some sort of white tiger, an animal Steven had showed her, but with six muscular legs. It had one eye, like a Sapphire, and her skin was light blue.

"Ohshitohshitohshit!" Spinel yelled as she ran through the forest. She tried to reach a Branch above her, but she couldn't stretch her arms out enough.

Suddenly the corruption made a loud whine and when Spinel looked behind her she saw the gem from earlier kick it to the ground.

"Grab my hand!" The gem said, instead of giving Spinel a chance, she just grabbed her arm and swung her up in the trees. Spinel wasn't used to someone else swinging her around, causing her to scream.

The unknown gem swung in the trees, still holding on tightly to Spinel. "We are almost there, just hold tight," the gem said.

Spinel did so and waited for her to stop hoping through the trees. She let go of Spinel as they touched the ground and looked out into the distance. This gave Spinel time to look at the gem. Her body was hidden under a white cloak, not giving Spinel a chance to see at least what type of gem she was.

"Who are you?" Spinel asked.

The gem didn't answer, instead she turned around and walked close to Spinel. "Who are you?"

"Hey I asked first!"

"Well, you are the first gem I've seen in years around here. I've been living on my own hiding from everyone and suddenly you show up? Are you looking for me or something? You alart of the Crystal Gems?

"I uh... its complaicated. I'm sort of on my own I guess..." Spinel half heartily mumbled. "Now, tell me who you are."

The gem shook her head. "You're all the same..." she leaped in the air and landed on a branch. "You're Spinel, right? Why didn't you just stretch your body and swing away?"

Spinel didn't want to tell this gem she was weak, in case she was evil. But if she was she would have attacked Spinel already? "The cold... makes my powers... off..." Spinel tried to explain.

"I see," the gem said. "But what had you to live on your own?"

"Why do you talk like this?" Spinel shook her head. "I just don't really fit in anywhere..."

The gem swung upside down on the branch so she was eye to eye level with Spinel. "A Spinel doesn't fit in? Why don't you just go with the Amethsyts, they all fun and games."

"I'm not like that anymore."

"A Spinel that isn't... all fun and games? I don't understand, are you defective?" The gem asked.

"No!" Spinel shouted harshly. "I was left behind. I don't know... it's taking me awhile to fix myself."

"I see. You're more like a Jasper or a-"

"No all of Homeworld hates me! The Crystal Gems do too... and Steven..."

"Who?"

"Steven! The only one that actually cared about me? Pink Diamond's son?!"

The gem shook her head. "Afriad I've been alone for too long to know who Steven is. But I do know who the Crystal Gems are."

Spinel rolled her eyes. "Do you know anything about what changed?"

"I know the Crystal Gems won the war. I was apart of it," the gem said, twisting herself off the branch and back onto the ground. "I ran away as soon as I saw the Diamond's bright light from their powers. I didn't want Rose to know I fled like a coward so I decided to stay out here."

"Oh come on! You know Rose wouldn't care!" Spinel shook her head. "I need to keep going. I don't have time with you."

"Why are you so harsh all of a sudden? I think it's because you were... left? It seems you have come to realization with yourself and can't handle it all at once? What other event has happened to you, Spinel?" The gem asked.

Spinel clenched her fists. "I... shattered a gem in front all of Homeworld."

The gem smiled and then slowly clapped. "Proved your dominance huh?"

"No. Homeworld has changed and now they all hate me! The gem I shattered tried to shatter me and I trying to prove a point! I knew what I was doing and what the consequences were... and I knew Steven would disagree with me... but it didn't matter. My life was Hell either way!"

"Your life was Hell? In Hell you don't have anyone. In Hell you won't be able to be with Steven. You'd be all alone."

"Like right now?"

"Not exactly..." the gem said. "You aren't alone. There are trillions of life forms on Earth-"

"I MEAN FRIENDS! I have no friends! I lost my last one eailer..."

"I lost all of my friends during the war," the gem said.

"I lost all my friends when Pink Diamond abandoned me," Spinel said. "She left me in the garden, like an old toy-!"

Suddenly the gem handed Spinel a crystal ball. Spinel gave it a glance and looked up at the gem confusedly.

"Hold onto it. Let me bring you somewhere," the gem said.

I decided to make this 'unknown gem' one of your oc's? I'm terrible at creating characters and I like adding other's oc's in my stories.

So if you want your oc (has to be a gem) to be in my story than private message me about your oc! It's more of like a first come first serve thing but I can still add your oc but they won't be the unknown gem.
