“so what brought you here to houston, uhm, houston?” calum chuckled at the hilarious sentence he made.
“just a vacation with dad.” houston simply answered with a smile. “and you can call me aimee to avoid any confusion. that’s my second name.”
“i think i’d settle for houston.” he insisted. “and what’s your last name again?”
“beauchamp.” she answered as soon as she can.
“are you related to mister william?” he asked in a tone of wonder.
her eyes widened upon knowing that he knew her grandfather. “you know my grandpa?” she asked.
“yep.” he said, popping the ‘p’. “he and my granddad were pretty close.” he informed.
“i see.” she bobbed her head like she contemplated everything. “small world.” she didn’t know why did that came out of her mouth.
“yeah, it is.” he agreed.
sitting on a patch of grass, houston didn’t want to create an awkward silence between her and calum.
“so what’s the name of this little fella?” she asked, rubbing the chin of the little goat in between them.
“grover.” he replied, almost chuckling. “his name is grover.”
“it’s a boy?” she giggled.
“yes.” he gave a nod. “never wonder why he went up to you.” he cheekily smiled as he pat the kid’s head. “he thinks you’re pretty. ain’t you, grover?”
coincidentally, the little fella let out a cute sound.
“he said yes.” he said then looked at her and their eyes met. and for some unknown reason, he had a weird feeling in his stomach.
she did, too.
small world.
