months had passed and houston finally graduated from college. she didn’t really get a major award but she had been honored as one of the young photographers of the year. she was completely happy with that and she gladly offered it to her parents.

“hey, mom. look at me. i graduated from photography and i was one of the young photographers of the year. dad said you were a great photographer once and i bet i got my skills from you. i love you, mom, and this award’s offered to you and dad for being the best parents.” she proudly said on her mother’s grave. “and to calum as well. that is if he still remembers me.”

houston was finally there in the local magazine publishing company called ‘jovid reads co.’ for her job interview.

blue, of course, was there for moral support. she already finished her interview the previous day and gladly, was accepted for the job in the photography section.

houston twiddled her almost-sweaty fingers as she hummed a tune she made up in her head to ease her nervousness. she only felt her heart jump when her name was called out by a woman who came from the interview room.

“houston aimee beauchamp?” the woman called out for her in her complete name.

“here.” houston shyly uttered as she stood up and raised her hand.

“you’re next. get ready.” the woman informed with a polite smile. she seemed pretty nice.

“oh my god, houston. you can do it. good luck!” blue squealed with a cheeky grin on her face as she cheered for her best friend.

“thank you so much, blue.” houston told blue with a nervous smile before walking up to the door of the room where she was getting interviewed. she fixed her formal wear before knocking and entering the room.

as soon as she came in, she greeted a nice and polite ‘good morning’ at some person she thought could’ve been the manager (as what was written on the sign on the door) whose office chair was facing the other way.

“good morning.” she heard him greeted back, but still not facing her. and something got into her. the voice was familiar. then the office chair began to turn to her direction and she almost fell on her knees on the floor. “how are you, houston?” the most familiar and important guy in her life said after he finally faced her.

“ca-cal-calum?” she stuttered, her voice became muddy, her limbs shaking.

the manager a.k.a. calum hood smiled at her as he gave her a nod. “hello, houston beauchamp.” he greeted with a wide smile.

she only stood there right across him, contemplating about the current situation, screaming ‘is this even real?’ in her head, still in complete shock. her whole body was now shaking and she had gone speechless.

“so, now what?” calum spoke up. he didn’t get a response and so his eye brows furrowed. he stood up from the office chair. “come on. don’t just stand there.” he whined with the usual pouty face. “come here. give me a hug.” he told her, opening his arms for a complete big hug.

and without any further ado, she ran into his arms and cried really hard on his chest. and in that hug, everything became so nostalgic. she can still smell his scent of minty pine scent and it brought so many memories back. he even wore the same shirt when he first met her.

and the both of them just stood there in the middle of the room for so long, embracing every inch of one another, letting the thought sink in that they finally met once again.

“we met again, houston.” calum softly said to her, his eyes getting teary as well.
