the next day, houston woke up and found herself on calum’s bed. she rolled over to the side to find a missing calum at her sight, making her sleepy eyes grow wide.

“calum?” she slightly panicked as she got up. she sighed in relief when she saw him cross-sitting across the bed, his head resting on his palm, looking at her with a smile like he had never seen such beauty. “oh.” she uttered, her hair in a mess.

he just chuckled and crawled up to her. “good morning.” he whispered, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.

she just giggled and replied a soft ‘good morning’, too.

they just both smiled at each other, remembering what happened last night. no, they didn’t kicked it all the way to 4th base. they just made out.

she looked out the window, only to see little drizzles falling from the sky. “it’s still raining.” she stated the obvious.

“hm, yeah.” he seconded.

“aren’t you cold?” she asked, looking at his bare chest.

“how about you? aren’t you?” he smirked then looked at her with only her under garments on. she just smirked back and blushed. “grandpops is not home by the way. help me prepare some grub for us?”

“yeah, sure.” she nodded and pulled over calum’s shirt which looked really baggy to her.

“so you mean to say, ‘howdy’ is not even often used in texas?” houston asked in disappointment at calum.

“no, baby. yes, it’s a texan slang but that doesn’t mean texans use that every time.” he pointed out.

she furrowed her eye brows. “oh great. i’ve literally greeted three people in the village with that slang. now, i feel embarrassed.” she pouted.

he just chuckled. “it’s not that embarrassing. don’t worry.” he said, putting an arm on her shoulder as he fed her strawberry.

she rested her head on his shoulder and let out a laugh. “it’s funny how i used to never want to go to houston and now i’m here and loving it.” she shared her thoughts. “it’s all because of you, robin hood.” she said, pinching his nose.

he let out a laugh, too. “it’s funny how i only loved one ‘houston’ and now i love two.” he glanced at her. “i love this place but now, i love you more.”

“you’re cheesy.” she playfully shoved him off. “have some cheese!” she chuckled, feeding him a small cube of cheese in his mouth.

“so…” he trailed. “what shall we do together in your last week in houston?” he asked though it may have stung a little for the both of them.

she shrugged. “i don’t know. maybe just do the usual things we do.” she answered, trying to smile.

“hm, okay. good idea.” he agreed. “but i have something i want you to try.” he gave her a smirk.

-

they just went horseback riding on one of scott’s horses and here they are, waiting for the sun to go down as they reminisced some memories they had within a month. they also shared a tub of salted caramel ice cream. calum wanted coffee crumble because he said it’s a good memory but houston insisted on salted caramel because she wanted to try something new.

“and, and also, and…” she tried to hold back her laughter but she failed. “and that moment when we had been chased by three dogs, oh god! that was fun! let’s do that again!” she exclaimed in hilarity.

“no way! there is no way we’re going to do that again!” he shook his head many times.

“oh why? because you’re scared of tripping off again?” she laughed, looking at the scar on his knee.

“hey! that’s not funny.” he whined and pouted.

“sorry.” she apologized but she was still giggling.

they finally stopped laughing their asses off and they both calmed down, calum’s head resting on houston’s lap.

“one down, six more to go. what shall we do tomorrow?” he spoke up, reaching out to gently pinch her cheek.

she only shrugged as she played with his hair.

“okay. maybe another something new.” he let out a sigh. “i love you, houston.” he blurted out.

“yeah. i love houston, too.” she joked and he only pouted. “i love you, calum.” she chuckled.
