I left Eddie in the upstairs hallway and went back to my room, and he did the same. I shut the door behind me and sunk to the floor, taking off my glasses and dropping them on the ground next to me, before rubbing my eyes. Had I really just told someone the truth about me?
It was a huge relief but at the same time... what if he told the others? Had I made it deadly clear that he wasn't to tell anyone else?
I felt a sudden panic and decided to go and make sure he was going to keep it to himself, when I heard a shout from next door. I leapt up, snatching my glasses, and ran out of the room, only to find Ben and Bev running up the stairs. Bev screamed when she got to the top and Eddie stumbled out of his room, blood pouring down his face. I grabbed him as he sunk to the floor and stared at the gash in his cheek.

"Bowers is in my room," he said with blood dribbling out of his mouth.
I stood up and spun round before storming into Eddie's room. I wanted to kill the motherfucker for hurting him!
But when I got inside there was no one there. The window was open and the blood on the floor pointed to the escape route.
"Fuck," I snapped and returned to Eddie who was being helped up by Ben.

"Are you okay?" I asked as Ben lead him down the stairs.

"Never been better, it's just a knife wound" he half smiled and I took his other arm.

Once we had helped him down the stairs, Ben let him go, "I'm going to look outside, Bowers might still be out there."

"I'll go with you," Bev followed him outside and I took Eddie into the kitchen.
I sat him at the table and rummaged through the cabenits.

"Just... hold this on it," I passed him a tea towel and he pressed it to his face while I searched for something to mend the hole in his face. I dropped a box of plasters from the cupboard, along with a medical box, and it all clattered to the floor.
"Shit," I scooped it all up and dumped it on the table in front of Eddie, and he looked at me with concerned eyes.

"You're not planning on doing this yourself... are you?"

"What do you want me to do? Put the knife back in?" I pulled some bandages out and stared at them, "fuck, Eds, I don't know what I'm doing," I pinched the bridge of my nose, "are you alright? Does it hurt?"

"I mean.. It doesn't feel good..."

I took some dressing out of the wrapper and pressed it to his face, panic making me a little clumsy, and he winced.
"I'm so sorry," I accidentally dropped it onto the table and he squinted at me.

"I'm okay, just calm down."

I shook my head, "I can't... It was bad enough when you broke your arm."

"Yeah well... you didn't exactly help..."

"Because I panic and I make stupid decisions! I'm sorry, okay?"

He picked up a bottle of antiseptic and passed it to me, "spray this on it."

"Why can't you do it?"

"Because I'm a pussy and it's gonna hurt."

"So you'd rather I cause you pain? Thanks..."

"Come on, it's fine. Just do it."

I reluctantly sprayed the bottle at his cheek and he cried out a little. His face stayed screwed up as I held the dressing up to his cheek, "it's okay, I'm almost done."
I tore of some tape and stuck the bandaging down as gently as I could.
"You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay."
He looked up at me and I realised my hand was still against his cheek, so I quickly moved it away.

"Are you sure? I can find you some pain killer."

"Thanks but I'm okay."

I sat down opposite him and smiled thinly, "what the fuck are we doing here..."

"Fuck knows..."

"Is your face okay?"

"Its throbbing a little but I think the adrenaline is helping."
I slowly put my hand up to his face again and rested my hand on his cheek. He winced a little but held my gaze.

"It feels warm."

"I mean... I was just stabbed in the face so I guess it's going to be a little warm..."
There was about four seconds of silence before I heard the others come back into the hotel and I dropped my hand onto my lap. I looked away from Eddie but I could still feel his eyes on me as I faced my friends.

"I can't see anything out there," Ben sighed, "he's gone."

"I think we all need a drink," Bev picked up a bottle of whiskey from the counter and poured herself a drink. She held it out towards me and I took it from her, taking a few mouthfuls of it before giving it back.

"I think I'm just gonna go to bed," I cleared my throat, "if that's okay with everyone. I have to get the car fixed tomorrow and I don't want to fall asleep driving home."

They bid me goodnight and I slunk off to bed, hoping that I could get away from here as soon as possible tomorrow.
