{Silver's POV}

Edmund and I had just landed, and I was getting off, holding Loyalty in my sheath, as I walked with the army.

"What happened?" I asked quietly, and Peter looked at me. "Caspian got distracted. It costs us everything."

He said, and I shook my head. "You still could have called it off Peter..." I started to say, and his sword was at my shoulder, and I looked at him.

I felt the fear pulsing through me, and he lowered it. "Don't ever question me again."

He said, and I backed up, and I went to stand next to Edmund, whose face was in complete shock, at his eldest brother's actions.

"You alright?" Edmund said quietly to me, and I looked at him. "What's your feeling?" I asked quietly, and he sighs.

"That's what I thought." I said, and I leaned my head on his shoulder. I felt the agony, and the grief.

"That was too high a price."

I said, and Peter looked at me, his eyes furious. "What? You are going to threaten me with your sword again?"

I asked and he flinched at my words, and I looked at him, my eyes filled in pain and grief.

"I led those people for you. Their ancestors. Their descendants. The creatures they are now. I watched them all grow up."

"I watched them training, and trained some of them myself Peter. That was.. that was a slaughterhouse back there. You still had time to call it off, and you didn't, now they are dead."

I said, and he looked at me.

"Then why did you agree with me?"

He snapped, and I could sense that I was pushing far beyond anything, I ever should, especially with him.

"Because I agreed counting on you to be the same person who took over for Aslan on the battlefield when he died. That person must have died."

I said, as I walked past him inside, and went into the How, wiping tears quickly from my eyes.

Edmund ran into the How after me, and came in just in time, to see me in all of my anger and grief.

I was taking off the necklace with the ring on it, and tossing it, leather strap and all, into the brazier nearest to me.

"They're fighting out there."

Edmund said, as I stared into the fire.

"I know." I said quietly, my voice completely hollow, and he looked at me.

"You want to go and help?" He asked, and I shook my head. "No." I said, and he hugged me gently, and I leaned my head on his shoulder.

I shut my eyes, and he hugged me gently and I heard a shout. I ran down into the crypts with Edmund.

"Stop!"

Peter shouted, and we all unsheathed our swords as one, and I leaped at the wolf-like shape with Edmund.

I saw Trumpkin charged for Nikabrik, and Peter take on the one with an old and cackled face.

Edmund and I were as a team, and we finished the werewolf like thing, and I looked at him, and nodded.

I saw that Peter was now in the grasp of the White Witch's power, and I felt an overwhelming surge of protection, again.

Edmund and I ran behind the ice, and our swords stabbed her from behind I ducked back with Edmund, as the ice, shattered all over and around us.

"I know. You had it sorted." Edmund said to Peter, who looked at me, and I avoided his gaze.

I walked with Ed back up and into the How, helping Lucy up as we did. I was in the hallway to the crypts, listening.

I was listening to what Lucy and Peter were saying now and I sighed as I did.

"You're lucky, you know." Peter was saying to her. "What do you mean?" I heard Lucy. "To have seen him."

He said, and I lowered my head. "I just wish he'd given me some sort of proof."

He said, and I looked at Ed, who was next to me, but couldn't hear anything that I could.

"Well... Maybe we're the ones who need to prove ourselves to him." Lucy said, and Edmund and I walked in at this moment with the news.

"Pete. You'd better come quickly."

Edmund said and I nodded to tell him to hurry, without actually... you know, speaking to him.

We all ran outside, and there it was. A whole army of Telmarines, catapults I saw, cavalry, spearmen, swordsmen.

I looked at Peter, Caspian, and Edmund, who all looked at each other, and they looked at me.

"Would they follow you?"

Edmund asked, and I looked at him.

"Of course they would you dolt. They believe in me, almost as much as they believe in the lot of you."

I said, and they all nodded at me.

We were all back in the How, and now Trumpkin was starting again on his shouting.

"Cakes and kettle-drums. That's your next big plan? Sending a little girl into the darkest parts of the forest? In the middle of a battle?! Alone!" He said.

"She won't be alone." Susan said and I looked at Trumpkin, my eyes flashing at him.

"Nikabrik was my friend too. But he lost hope with us. Queen Lucy hasn't, and neither have I."

Trufflehunter said, and a small blade was unsheathed, and I turned to see a certain mouse.

"For Aslan." Reepicheep said, and I nodded at him. "For Aslan." The bear said. "For Aslan. And for Narnia."

I said, my voice quiet, but seemed to echo around, as if I had shouted it in the How.

"If I may..." Caspian said, and we all looked at him. "Miraz may be a tyrant and a murderer, but he is still a king."

Caspian said, and I nodded.

"But as king, he is subject to the traditions... and the expectations of his people." He said, and my eyes flashed, as I realized what he had in mind.

"There is one in particular, that may buy us some time." Caspian said, and I nodded at him.
