{Silver's POV}

"It's only a matter of time. Miraz's men and war machines are on their way. That means, those same men aren't protecting his castle."

Peter said, and I nodded, watching from the sidelines as a wolf, lying on my stomach.

"What do you propose we do, Your Majesty?" Reepicheep said, and Peter looked at him.

"We need to get ready for it..."

"To start planning for..."

Peter and Caspian said at the same time and promptly each glared hard at each other, and I looked between, them both. "Boys."

I muttered, and Edmund nodded.

"No offense Ed." I said. "None taken. You're right you know." He said, from next to me.

The staring contest was over, and Peter was talking again. "Our only hope is to strike them, before they strike us."

He said, and Caspian scoffed.

"That is just... Crazy. No one has ever taken that castle." Caspian said.

Peter looked at him, and he raised his two eyebrows into a single line. "Well there is always a first time."

Peter said.

"We'll have the element of surprise." I heard Trumpkin say, and I nodded, as I heard him speak until Caspian spoke again.

"But we have the advantage here!" I heard Caspian say, and I groaned at the sound of his arrogant voice.

"If we dig in, we could probably hold them off indefinitely." Susan said, and I looked at her.

I was clearly shocked to see her taking Caspian's side over Peter's, who was after all, her own brother.

"I, for one, feel safer underground." I heard Trufflehunter say, and I snorted and shook my fur out.

"I'm with Peter on this. We need to strike now, before they return to here to strike at us."

I said, and he looked at me gratefully, and I loped over to stand next to him, staying as a wolf for now, and my fur was shining in the torchlight.

"Look. I appreciate what you have done here, but this isn't a fortress. It's a tomb." Peter said.

"It's true. This never was a fortress. Once this was a Hill, with the Stone Table on top."

I said, and Caspian looked at us, then at me. "You swore me a vow, of good, protection."

He said, and I looked at him.

"My vow to them predates the one that I made to you by quite a few bad centuries."

I said coldly, prowling around him, looking like a wolf hunting it's prey, and Edmund stood up.

"Yes. And... If they're smart, the Telmarines will just wait and starve us out."

Edmund said, and I saw Peter smiling at his little brother. "We could collect, nuts and such." A squirrel said.

"Yes! And throw them at the Telmarines!" Reepicheep said, and I chuckled at the mouse.

"Shut up." Reepicheep said to the squirrel, and turned to Peter and I, as we watched him. "I think you know where I stand, sire." He said.

"If I get your troops in, can you handle the guards?" Peter asked, looking at the current leader of centaurs.

"Or die trying, my liege." The centaur said, after a glance at Caspian, who is looking horrified and shocked.

"That's what I'm worried about." Lucy murmured, and I leaped over to her. I nuzzled her hand.

"Sorry?" Peter asked. "You are all acting like there's only two options. Dying here, or dying there."

Lucy said, and I raised my eyebrows, wondering where she was going with this.

"I'm not sure you've been listening."

Peter said, and Lucy looked at him.

"No, you're not listening. Or have you forgotten who was the one who really defeated the White Witch, Peter?"

She asked, and I lowered my head with a growl of something like shame, and I saw that Peter had very much flinched at that.

"I think we've waited for Aslan long enough." He said, and it was mine and Lucy's turns to flinch.

I saw then, that Lucy looked like she was about to start crying, and I nudge her with my nose and she hugged me, as Peter walked away without turning back to look at any one of us in tomb.

The army had long since left, and I was wearing armor, as for the first time in a very long time.

I was going into battle as a human, as I rode on Edmund's griffin with him. I felt the pain from earlier, and his sigh cleared the fog a bit. "You alright?"

He asked, and I shook my head. "Do you think he really meant it?" I asked, and he looked at me.

"I don't know Silver. All I know, is that right here, right now... we're doing the right thing. Right now."

He said, and I nodded at him. "You're right Edmund." I said quietly, and he was hanging onto the griffin, and navigated to the back of the fortress.

I looked at Edmund, and he nodded at me. "It's not too late for you to go back to Aslan's How Silver."

He said, as I shook, and saw the stone and all of the other metal on top of it.

Edmund hugged me, and I leaned my head on his shoulder. "Are you sure? I can tell you're scared."

He said and I looked at him.

"I have to protect as many of you as I can. Lucy is safe at the How, but you, Susan, and Peter are all here."

I said, and he looked at me.

"Do not go dying on us tonight." He said, and I kissed his cheek. "Don't do anything stupid."

I said, and he looked at me, and I began to climb, up and over the walls, finding footholds and handholds.

Like I knew that probably, no one else could manage here in the darkness, as well as with the fog. "Be careful."

I heard Edmund say, and I saluted him with Loyalty, before getting over the walls.

Edmund took the griffin around again, and landed on one of the many towers around, careful not to be spotted.
