{Silver's POV}

I walked with Edmund as a wolf, my eyes brightly shining as we walked to the Telmarine camp, and I growled at the guards, who dared to even take a step at Edmund.

"We are here on message Silver. Not to fight." Edmund said quietly, and I looked at him. "I hate this." I said, as he nodded. "I know the feeling." He said, as we walked into the tent.

"I, Peter, by the gift of Aslan, by election and by conquest, High King of Narnia, Lord of Cair Paravel and emperor of the Lone Islands."

Edmund said, and continued to read as I growled at the people around me, who all held weapons.

"In order to prevent the abominable effusion of blood, do hereby challenge the Usurper Miraz to single combat, upon the field of battle." He said.

"The fight shall be to the death. The reward shall be total surrender." He said, and rolled up the scroll quickly.

"Tell me, Prince Edmund..." Miraz said, and I snarled. "King." I snarled, and Miraz drew his sword, pointing the blade at me.

"Silver is correct. It's King Edmund actually. Just King though. Peter's the High King."

He said, and I stood up in human at the laughable expression on Miraz's face, and the men were all shocked at my transformation.

"This is Silver by the way. Protector of the four children, one of which I am. I trust that you know this. She is. The queen from which you took Narnia from at the time when you did."

Edmund said.

"Why would we risk such a proposal, when our armies could wipe army out with a single stroke by Nightfall?"

I heard Miraz say, and I growled, but Edmund remained calm, so I did not attack. Not yet anyways.

"Haven't you already underestimated our numbers? I mean, only a few days ago, maybe a week ago, the Narnians were extinct."

Edmund said, and Miraz looked at him. "And so you will be again." He said, and I snarled.

"Or the Telmarines, will be the ones extinct." I said coldly, and he looked at me.

"Take her."

He said, and the guards all went for their weapons, and I tipped my head back. I let out a long, bloodcurdling, cool howl, and they all immediately backed away.

"You take me now, and my wolves come, howling, growling, and their screaming for revenge. For their alpha to return."

I said, and went to howl again, but Miraz stopped them. "Well then you shall have little to fear."

Edmund said, and Miraz laughed. "This is not a question of bravery." He said and I looked at Edmund who was clearly thinking hard. "So, you're now bravely refusing to fight a swordsman half your age?" Edmund said.

I looked at Edmund, and grabbed his hand with mine from behind both of our backs, and he nodded.

"I didn't say I refused." Miraz spat out, like it was poison to him to say.

"You have our of course, undying support your Majesty. Whatever your decision." One of the lords says.

"Sire, our military advantage alone provides the perfect excuse to avoid what might otherwise be..."

Sosepien said, and Miraz unsheathed his sword and stood up, pointing it at him. "I am not avoiding anything!"

He shouted as I looked at him.

"I was merely pointing out that my lord is well within his rights to refuse, this... combat." Lord Sosepien said.

"His Majesty would never refuse. He relishes the chance of course, to show the people, the courage of their new king."

His General said, and Edmund and I looked at him as one, and he raised a single eyebrow at us, in response.

"You." He said, and pointed his sword at Edmund, and I immediately was in front of it, and watching Miraz's face.

"You'd better hope your brother's sword, is sharper than his pen." Miraz said, and nodded.

"But, as insurance, we take the Protector." He said, and the guards came around.

They came quickly enough, so that neither Edmund or I had time to react to this attack, before they were now clamping me in irons.

"If you die, she is returned. Unharmed. To us, her own people ant family."

Edmund said, his eyes flashing with the relentless fury, and I saw the pain behind his anger.

"Returned if I die? Yes. Unharmed? That remains to be seen." Miraz said, and I looked at Edmund. "Ed."

I said quietly, and he looked at me.

"Don't trust them." I whispered, and he looked at me, and I felt myself get pulled hard onto my feet, and I was marched away.

{Edmund's POV}

I was practically storming back into the How, with the giant and my own skin on my back. "Edmund!"

Peter said, and he looked at me.

"But where's Silver?" He asked, and I looked at him, feeling tears prickling, in my eyes now.

"They took her. Clapped her in irons. They told me, that if Miraz died, and it was a fair fight, they'd give her back."

I said, and Peter looked at me.

"The ring I gave to her. Where is it?"

He asked, and I looked at him.

"She burnt it. Just after she let out the rage on you, and in front of the entire army as well. Why?" I asked.

"They were telepathy rings. Given to me by Aslan." Peter said and I felt like my world had just been broken apart.

"She doesn't care for you like that Peter. You are like a brother to her now. She might not ever trust any one, none of us at least, like that."

I said, and he looked at me.

"She has good reason not to trust us now. We've all treated her like spittle on a wall. The only ones who haven't are you and Lucy."

He said, and I looked at him. "You are right Peter. I didn't notice." I said, and my eyes flashed with fury.

"I need to win now. For certain. We need our White Wolf back."

Peter said, and I looked at him. "Let's get ready to fight then." I said, and we went upstairs into the How, walking, side by side.
