Chapter 5- OverProtective Namjoon

Chapter 5

"I can't believe you went on a date and didn't even tell me!"

Namjoon huffs, you smile thinking about your date. "I'm seriously upset y/n, this is a big deal you don't date. I didn't even know that guy you were talking to was a serious thing. Is he really a porn star? Cause I don't think you-"

"Wait"

You stop him and he looks at you waiting for your answer.

You laugh a little and then blush "I didn't go on a date with that guy...this is a different guy"

Namjoon looks at you surprised "Who are you and what have you done with my best friend?" You laugh more and cover your face "I know!"

You giggle and look back at him "I don't know I just...wanted to try something different and he asked out of the blue and I said yes and I'm so glad I said yes! Namjoon it was such a good date and ugh he is such a good kisser"

"Wait!"

He voice booms and makes you jump a little "You kissed him? You kissed a complete stranger! And on your first date!" You look at him a bit confused not sure why he is getting so riled up.

"Well yeah...what's the big deal" he makes a loud frustrated sigh as he runs his fingers through his hair "Nothing it's just..."

He stands to his feet and starts to pace back and forth, you raise a brow at him having not seen this side of Namjoon in a while.

"Y/n I can't believe how irresponsible you were. What if this guy tried something and hurt you, you can't just go out with anyone. You should know better. Your much too innocent and pure to just do things on impulse like that."

Suddenly you feel anger rising within you, who is he to stand here and scold you about who you can and can't see. He wasn't your father.

"You need to relax Namjoon before this gets ugly" you say trying to stay calm but you can't help ball your fists as you stare up at the unfamiliar face that's looking back at you.

His brows are knitted together in confusion "I'm just trying to look out for you y/n...you don't have much experience in the dating world" you huff as you get to your feet. His words were cutting through you and he didn't seem to get that he was actually hurting your feelings. "Can you just go?"

He looks at you even more confused "What? why?" You cross your arms over your chest suddenly feeling small and insecure. Did he really think you were this pathetic innocent weak girl? It was insulting.

"Because you're being an asshole right now and I don't think you see that what your saying is hurtful" his face falls as he now sees how upset you are. He takes a step forward and you take a step back not wanting him to touch you.

Namjoon sighs "Sorry y/n I didn't mean to make you feel like shit...it's just" he takes a seat and looks at his feet "This is weird...your not this type of girl."

Finally he looks up at you, his eyes seemed to soften as they search your face "I guess I'm just used to you not dating...and the fact that you didn't tell me you were even talking to a guy or guys I guess..." he didn't seem to like that he had to use plural "It's just different and I don't want you to get hurt or rush into anything..."

You sigh walking over to him, he had a point. You were always the one who sat at home and never put yourself out there. You were a boring home body so it was a bit weird that you would do all this in the first place.

But god did it feel good to do something so different from your normal. You stand in front of him and he looks up at you with soft eyes.

Even though he was sitting on the couch he was still almost your height, the boy was large.

You cup his cheeks and squish them together making his face twist in a weird expression and you laugh. "I get it" you say and sit next to him.

"But joon, I'm tired of being invisible..." he turns his head and looks at you with concern. You look down at your hands feeling vulnerable.

"This may not be a normal thing for me and I know I'm not like the best looking person...but it was so exciting" he watches closely as your eyes light up "To actually be asked out and by someone so handsome...I couldn't not say yes. Sure I was so nervous that when he'd see me in person he'd regret his decision immediately but he didn't and we ended up having such a good time."

You smile shyly as you lean back into the couch and pull your legs towards your chest "It was nice to not be me for a change, to take a risk and see what is out there. But I am sorry I didn't say anything to you, it just all happened so suddenly. But he did ask me out on a second date so that has to be a good sign right?"

Namjoon just stared at you silently, his mind racing with so many questions and emotions. He had no idea you viewed yourself so poorly and that hurt him. He thought you were breathtakingly beautiful in every aspect.

"I promise I will tell you when and where the next date is, but you were right about one thing" he gets taken from his thoughts and lays back into the couch next to you "What's that?"

"I am kinda new at this whole dating thing...like it's been a while..." your eyes bulge a bit to emphasize how long it's been and he laughs.

"I know trust me, I don't recall the last time I've seen you with anyone...that's why I want you to be careful. I don't want anyone to ever hurt you y/n"

Your heart tightens as his eyes burn into yours, you feel your cheeks burn slightly so you quickly look away as does he. "That's why I might need your help with a few things" he rolls his eyes and you smile tugging his arm

"Come on Ive been your go to person for years with all your dumb bitches so it's about time you be my go to person"

Namjoon groans but agrees to be available for any questions you may have. This was going to be hard on him but he would do anything in this world to make sure you were happy and it hurt him knowing that this whole time you in fact weren't happy.
