Invader Zim One Shots

Zim x Reader pt. 2

The next day, you and Dib are over at his place. He moved out of his dad's house last year, so he's got his own apartment. Gaz is still currently living with Professor Membrane, though. She's eighteen, but still finishing up her senior year in high school.

You're both sitting on the couch watching Mysterious Mysteries of Strange Mystery. You're both eating popcorn as you watch it. You say, "Hey babe." Dib says, "Yeah?" You say, "We need to go to the warehouse. See Zim again. That was awesome."

He grins and says, "Yeah? Like the sight of a space invader that's been captured and put into a containment chamber, hooked up to wires for testing?" You say, "Y-yeah. That's it. Can we go? Please? Go and see that... green monster?" He says, "Yes. Right after Mysterious Mysteries." You smile and you say, "Sweet." Little does he know, you're making an excuse to see Zim.

(Time skip.)

You and Dib get to the warehouse and you head inside. You see the curtains and you both walk over. He says, "I hope you didn't touch the glass, by the way. Did you?" You lie and you say, "Nope." He says, "Good." He opens the curtains and there's Zim. You smile.

He's sleeping at the moment. But Dib walks over and knocks on the glass, waking Zim up and startling him. You say, "Dib. Is that necessary, waking the alien up while he's sleeping?" He says, "Very. He tried to destroy the world. Someone had to stop him." Zim says, "Smooth talk towards your girl, Dib stink." You quietly stifle a laugh towards Zim's sarcasm.

Dib says, "Hey. I'm not insulting her. Just you, Zim. At least you won't be touching her with you behind that glass." You look at Zim and you've got a sad expression. As Dib and Zim continue to bicker and shout, you put your hand on Dib's shoulder and you say, "Um. Sweetie. Maybe you should wait outside for a bit. You're getting overheated here. Cool down."

He says, "Yeah. Okay. I'll do that." You smile and you say, "I'll be right out. I'm gonna insult this green monster myself." Zim says, "Yeah. Do what you gotta do." Dib looks at you and smiles saying, "God, I love a loyal woman." You smile. He walks out of there.

You face Zim and you walk closer. You sigh and you say, "I want to get you out of there. I just... wish I knew how." Zim grins and says, "Just ask your sweetheart where the button is. He'll tell you, his... 'loyal' girlfriend." He chuckles.

You say, "Shh. Zim." He says, "Okay. Okay. But I mean it. He'll listen to YOU. He thinks he's smart. He is compared to most humans... but he's so gullible to listen to what you tell him. I guess his weakness is a female."

You giggle and you say, "Hey. That's gotta be YOUR weakness too, Zim.~" You look at him. He blushes and he says, "Uh... N-no. It's not. You lie, female!" You say, "Ooh. Getting temperamental there, Zimmy boy?~" He says, "Ooh... I'm only screwing with you." You look at him and you say, "I'll find a way to get you out of there, Zim. Set you free."

He looks at you and says, "Take me with you. Leave Dib and run away with me." You lean in and you whisper, "I plan to, my green... what alien race are you?" He says, "Irken." You say, "My green Irken prince.~" He says, "Poor Dib's oblivious to the fact that you've fallen for ME."

You say, "Something wrong with that, Zim?~" He says, "Not at all kinda nice to see a human female fall for an Irken invader." He suddenly gives you a sad look. You say, "What's wrong, Zim?"

He says, "They're gonna have me on that autopsy table, tomorrow. Dib and his fellow Swollen Eyeball members are going to be in that room, ready to take a scalpel and dissect me alive. No pain medicine. Nothing to knock me out with, first."

You gasp in shock and out of sadness. You say, "No... Zim, no." You put your hands on the glass. He looks at you and says, "I need you there. Tomorrow. The science research lab one block away from Chicky Licky." You say, "I know where that is. I'll be there." He says, "Save me, (Y/N)." He puts his hand up to the glass and you do too. It's as if you're wanting to hold hands.

(Time skip.)

The next day, you're at the science research lab. You went with Dib. You both said you'd watch him do his dissection on Zim. But little does Dib realize, you're gonna be replacing one of the doctors in that room and you'll be disguised as one of them. You had plans of your own.

Dib says, "This is it, (Y/N). This is finally it!" He grins and says, "It's time to see what really lies within the alien... literally." You say, "Yeah. Sure." He says, "I've been waiting years to finally show proof that Zim does not have all of the same internal organs as we do."

You and Dib get to a room and you head inside. You see Zim strapped to a metal table. There's a line drawn down his chest where they're going to cut him open. You have the sad look on your face.

You say, "Dib." He says, "Yes?" He says, "I'll be back. I realize I have to use the restroom." He says, "Go ahead. I've got time." You say, "Thank you." You walk off. You lied so you could sneak off. You get behind one of the doctors that's standing next to a door that leads to the janitor's closet.

You open that door and you pull the doctor into the closet. He yelps as he gets pulled in. A few seconds later, you come walking out, but you're in disguise. You look like the doctor that you pulled into the closet. He's in there right now in just his boxers and a shirt and he's looking around saying, "Huh? What happened?"

Right out in the operating room, you're standing by Dib. He's unaware that it's you. You use your best deep voice to say this, "Hey boy." Dib says, "Yeah?" He says, "Your girlfriend just tripped over something in the hallway on her way out."

He gasps and says, "She did?!" In your 'man' voice you say, "Yes. Go help her. A girl should always be your first priority, boy." Dib drops the scalpel and he runs out of there yelling, "(Y/N)! I'm coming for you!"

You chuckle quietly. You face Zim. He raises a brow. You lean down and he shakes a bit. You whisper, "It's me, Zim." He gasps and he grins whispering, "(Y/N)." You suddenly get something out. A sort of ball. You face the other doctors and Swollen Eyeball team and you throw it down. It makes smoke appear and everyone coughs.

You hit the button to unlock the cuffs holding Zim down and he's free. He grins and sits up. He stands up and he says, "Let's get out of here!" You grab him and he steps down. You both run out of there before the smoke fades away.

You run down the hallways. You see Dib. He turns to see a doctor... but they have Zim with them. He says, "What the? Hey! He's ours to dissect!" They stop and you face Dib. He raises a brow.

You sigh and you get the disguise off. He says, "(Y-Y/N)? I... I don't understand? What do you have Zim for?" You say, "Dib... I'm moving on. I can't be with you." He says, "W-what?" You say, "I'm sorry, but... despite us having a lot in common, Dib... I didn't WANT to dissect Zim. Now you know the truth. I wanted you to bring me to him... because I fell in love with HIM."

Dib is in shock and disbelief. You say, "You better do the same. Find a girl who's interested in torturing and trying to kill this poor guy like you are." He has an angry look on his face and he says, "Alright. If that's how you want it, then so be it. We're done. I was wondering why you were so hesitant, recently. Now I know. I'll just find Gretchen... or even Tak." He walks off. Zim says, "Ha! Good luck getting Tak of all people to fall for you, Dib stink!"

You and Zim face each other and you both smile. He pulls you in for a hug. You hug back. You pull away. You hear Dib yelling, "Guards! Stop them! Stop them, both!" You say, "Ugh. Rude." Zim says, "Come on. Let's get the hell out of here." You hold hands and you run out of the building and up a hill.

You get into the woods and you run in at least four hundred feet away. You hear nobody, much to your luck. You pant a bit and so does Zim. You both relax and you laugh a bit. You say, "That was fun. The escape." He says, "Yeah. Yeah, it sure was."

You face him and you say, "Zim." He faces you and says, "Yeah, (Y/N)?" You grab his hands and you look at him saying, "I love you.~" He leans in and he softly says, "I love you too, (Y/N). Human or not.~"

You both lean in to kiss and you wrap your arms around him. You pull away and you say, "Come on. Let's go to my place and pack everything up. We'll leave town." He says, "Good idea. Let's never come back to THIS stink filth of a town again. Ever." You smile.

You both walk off and you find your way home, out of the woods. You and Zim end up bailing and starting a life, together. Of course, he'd be in his human disguise as you went out. Dib also happened to move on with Gretchen as his new girlfriend.
