Chapter 2: A New World

When all the SG1 members arrived at Coruscant and had an eye full of all that was going on, Jack said, "Holy Cow... this place looks... words that I don't think anyone can utter."

Sam had to agree with him. She said, "This is my first time here too, love — as you know me. It was nothing like this when I was living here."

Teal'c commented, "Indeed."

Daniel said, "We will stay here for a long time... mainly because I don't think I want to leave."

Sam closed her eyes to see if she could find her Daughter with the Force. After an enormous smile, she said, "Chari is about to be here. She is riding one of the many types of transport we see flying around." She looked at Teal'c, "have you had any information on this planet?"

"If I did... as you said... this place has changed an impressive deal since the stories were told to us children."

Before Teal'c got done talking, Chari appeared out of nowhere. She said to them all with a smile, "Welcome to Coruscant."

Sam smiled at her after turning around to face her. They ended up hugging each other. She hugged her Father in the same loving way.

Jack said jokingly, "I now see whom you are imitating with your stealthiest."

"I didn't mean to sneak up on you all. When I get so determined to do something, I act too fast."

Sam giggled, "Yes, you are imitating your Father, my Grace."

Jack smiled, "It's interesting, you have called her that... why?"

Chari said, "That is the meaning of my name, Grace. It comes from the Greek, Χάρη."

He once again pretended to be dumbfounded by his expressions. He said, "Ah, I get it."

She frowned, "Father, you need not pretend to be ignorant all the time."

"How else can I make your Mother stand out with her brilliance?"

She smiled at her Father and asked her Mother, "What have you remembered since you've been here?"

"I... wow. I wasn't sure what to expect. Just arrived, and things must be totally different now... huh. Hey, wait a minute! I remember this place!"

Jack asked her, "Surely things would be so different... how long has it been? Feels like a lifetime."

Chari answered, "If I calculated right on how you measure time on Earth, it was over a trillion years ago."

Jack replied to Sam, "You look great for someone that old."

Chari scorned, "Father! You know very well that they traveled in time to Earth." She paused, "the facts I have gathered were vague, so what I've learned could be misleading. I don't know how long it was."

Sam asked, "How come?"

"That will take some time, and getting you here isn't for a social event. It was lucky that he didn't follow you and Grandmother... or the both of you may not be alive today."

She froze in disheartened emotions. She said, "Mom died in an automobile accident when I was young. For the longest, I blamed Dad for it, but now what you have said, it couldn't have been an accident."

She walked closer to her and gave her a quiet hug that Sam shared with her. While still hugging, she whispered, "It could have been that way, but please don't jump to conclusions."

Teal'c said, "There was one person who might have done so, and he was someone I was told a lot about when I was a child — Darth Sidious."

It alarmed Chari in how this Jaffa knew of him. She said, "It's interesting that you were told about this person."
