A week after the recent arrivals from Earth, Bowca-camur came over to where Samuel was working with some natives on Tython. She asked, "How are you adapting to another world?"

He stopped what he was doing, stood up straight, and smiled at her, "To be honest with you, at times I feel like I can't tell the difference. Yes, I can see the living beings I am living with and working for aren't the same as Earth, but that doesn't matter. If I am breathing the same air as on Earth, then they can live on my planet just as easily. That tells me there is no actual difference."

She smiled, "When Sam and the rest of SG1 came here on Tython, they adapted quickly. It wasn't long before they acted as if it was always a part of their lives."

"That might be, they were used to living and doing things in unfamiliar worlds. Jack told me they went through this Stargate a great deal when they worked for Stargate Command." He paused and asked, "how is everyone adapting to us here? We are new to you all and in all respects — outsiders."

"If it was not knowing so much about Her Majesty before we laid eyes on her and all she had done to enlighten us here and now, I think everyone might be a bit taken back, but as you can see, the Talids have accepted you and the rest of you from Earth. You all must have impressed them very much."

"What do you mean?"

"They rarely interact with humans. They have xenophobia towards strangers."

He chuckled, "I will be darn. If you didn't tell me that, I wouldn't have believed it. They have been ever so hospitable with me."

She studied him for a moment and said, "I see you were a warrior."

"Yes, I was in a war on Earth with Jack some years back."

"I think they see that in you. They are nomads mostly, but I think they understand that if it weren't for the Jedi and the Rebel Alliance, they would not be alive on Tython today. They must see something special in you in order for you to interact with them so intimately."

"I hope I don't have to fight in any more wars, but if the feud with this alternate Chari is that evil, then I'll do all I can." He ruffled his hair a bit and said, "I think that is why I'm helping these Talids out, I'm making that statement."

She smiled with all her cat-like teeth showing, "That's why you all have made a difference here. I've been studying all of you, and it has amazed me to see how much of an impression you have shown on us all. I think the rest of Earth is ready for us to reveal ourselves to them when that time comes."

"Trust me Cathar, how you look makes no difference. It is the attitude that will make all the difference. Look at us. We have been here for about a week, and we have apparently made a big impression on all of you here."

"Yes, you have indeed."

He thought to change the subject and ask about how retired Major Samantha Carter could have made such an impact on all he was told regarding the ancient Jedi Knights.

"Wow! That's a lot to take into account." She paused and said, "let me try to organize this on a linear time, so you can get a grip on all this." She paused once more and continued, "Sam was born on Tython countless years ago. There was no record of when she was born. Some have stated a trillion years ago by your time measurements — if I understand correctly, but that could be an exaggeration."

"If it was anywhere near that time, then I suspect the official time she was born is a guarded secret."

Her brow furrowed, and she bit her lip. "Wait, how did you know that?"

"Based on what I know of military secrets from my time in Desert Storm, keeping the time and place a guarded secret would be a life-and-death situation for Major Carter."
