Chapter 7: Dream

Sam accepted her royal status and did not feel out-of-place by others calling her by the royal title given to her. This made her think of what her sister said about accepting the Baas name. "Should that name be coming back now? How important is our sir name anyhow? I would like to do more investigations on our heritage before I can rightfully accept that name today as a royal status."

Cassandra saw her in thought and asked, "What's on your mind, girlfriend?"

She smiled at her and told her about her full royal name.

"WOW! That's a beautiful name. What is the problem?" "it is not like I never heard of it before. My full name — Skyma Talle Cassandra Baas."

"To answer your first question, I was thinking about using it, but I wanted to know more about my ancient heritage, first. If there is a reason for it to be a secret, I want to know why and would it matter if I used it today?"

"What has Skyma said regarding this?" "how funny to ask such a question. I guess I have been so used to being human and Cassandra, all these years."

"She said it will be up to me, but that doesn't mean we should use it, and if it's up to me, I want to know more."

"If keeping it a secret means to protect you from the horrors of your ancient past, then don't worry about it. Your past knows who you are and where." "it is why I have an alternate of me helping me watch for things. We need to reunite as sisters, but you are too upset with what has been happening to you, lately. Through the Force, I see some alternates of you know who we are. For you, it will take time, but you will learn all you need to know."

"Excellent point. Still, it doesn't hurt to learn more before sticking my big toe in the water — sort of speaking."

"If they go after you in any harmful way, they have to get through me."

Hothok replied, "Same here, Cassie!"

Cassandra smiled, "There's nothing to worry about anyhow. The last report I got, there were no antagonistic activities anywhere in the sector or the solar system."

"That is an excellent thing, but there is a way for the Dark-side to attack its victims."

She showed worry on her face and asked, "Like what?"

"For one big way — dreams or visions."

Cassandra looked at her with the look she would take nothing but the truth, "Have you been attacked in that way?" "I know you told me some of what I am asking, but you need to tell me all of it."

Sam said, "I can't say I have had any nightmares, but I wasn't aware of any attacks."

Hothok asked, "Please tell me about these nightmares" if you would."

Tears welled up in Samantha's eyes as she spoke to Skyma about the visions. "I talked to her about seeing my alternate self... enduring torture, harsh slavery..." Her voice hitched, a tremor running through it. "it felt so real. Like it was me that went through it all. They weren't just visions," she thought, her voice tightening. "I felt it. Every agonizing scream, every brutal blow."

With a quick look at Cassandra as a nonverbal statement, she was right, she looked back at Sam and asked, "Tell us about that."

A choked sob escaped her lips, escalating into a torrent of tears. "Oh my God!" she cried, the words raw and desperate. The dam holding back her anguish finally broke, and she surrendered to the storm raging within.

Cassandra said, "Please tell us more. You aren't going to get this off your chest until you do, and if you don't, you will have my foot in your ass as well."
