Chapter 14: Sam vs Sam

The Alliance had an exemplary size base around the Stargate, or at least that is what Sam thought. She said, "Commander, magnificent work in setting up the SGC."

Commander Phelps asked, "SGC?"

She smiled, "It stands for Stargate Command."

"Cool name."

"It is, and I had worked at the SGC on Earth for five years."

"Sam, I hope they come for you soon. I will look for them every day."

"When that time comes, I hope we can greet them together."

Commander Phelps just smiled at her.

Before she entered the program, she found out she had to enter a compiler, so they could execute the program. After entering everything she could, she ran a diagnostic. The Stargate spun but dialed nothing.

Ituor replied after he saw the Stargate in action, "I will be a son of a Hutt."

Tumok was inches from Ituor. He said, "Sam told me everything about it, but I am just amazed as you are."

Sam was grinning from ear to ear on seeing everyone's reaction. "If only I could dial into another Stargate." She just stared at the Stargate. She believed she was only thinking. "I'm waiting for you, Jack. I can't wait to be in your arms."

A warmth bloomed in Samantha's chest, as unexpected as it was welcome, to hear Jack's voice so resolute. "And I will never let you go ever again. That is a promise." His words echoed in her mind, a fierce possessiveness lacing his tone that sent a shiver down her spine. It was a vow not just spoken, but felt, a promise etched in the depths of his determined gaze.

Tears welled in her eyes as she whispered, "I love you, Jack, from the first time I saw you at the SGC." The confession tumbled out, a truth she couldn't hold back any longer. Her heart, a chaotic mess for far too long, finally found a rhythm in the steady beat of his name.

A slow smile tugged at the corner of Jack's lips. "I first loved you when you said you had a Matt Mason doll." There was a hint of amusement in his voice, a playful jab that brought a much-needed lightness to the moment. Yet, beneath the teasing, a warmth radiated from him, a confirmation of the affection she'd only dared to dream of.

Sam's laugh, a melody that had been missing for too long, filled the air. It was a joyous sound, tinged with relief and the dawning realization of a love reciprocated. When Jack, his voice filled with mock seriousness, added, "I will see if Chulak has them in stock," another peal of laughter erupted from her. The absurdity of the statement, coupled with the tenderness in his eyes, solidified the bond between them. In that moment, their love story, a tapestry woven with courage, vulnerability, and a touch of goofiness, unfolded before them, a future filled with laughter and unwavering devotion.

Sam's laughter rose in pitch, bubbling over like a pot overflowing with stew. Her eyes shone with mirth, fixed on the Stargate as if it held the punchline to some cosmic joke. Lost in her amusement, she drifted away from the conversation, leaving them hanging.

Concerned and a touch bewildered, Ituor and Tumok exchanged a worried glance. Ituor, ever the cautious one, approached hesitantly. He cleared his throat, the sound barely audible over Sam's giggles.

"What is so funny?" Tumok blurted out, his booming voice a stark contrast to Sam's lighthearted peals.

Sam's laughter only intensified at the question. Tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to spill over. "Jack said," she hiccuped between giggles, "he'll give me a Matt Mason doll when he comes back!"
