Marinette's POV
The following morning, I awoke with a start. Today, I'm going shopping with Luka to find some suitable, yet casual clothes.
He said he'd be here around 9, so I took my time when getting ready.
About midway as I was applying my makeup at around 7:45, Luka bust into my room through the trapdoor out of nowhere.
I jumped and almost fell out of my seat, "What the hell?! What are you doing here so early?" I demanded.
"When you're going on a date, you always have to he prepared! Come on, let's go!" Luka urged, coming up into the room.
I growled, "You could've at least knocked! What if I was naked?!" I hissed in frustration, not noticing the red that emerged on his cheeks.
He scoffed, "Well you weren't right? Now come on! On a real date, Adrien wouldn't be waiting around for you to finish your makeup!" he professed.
I stood up and rolled my eyes, "Have you ever even been on a date?" I questioned as I lifted my eyebrow.
"No, have you?" he countered.
I smirked, "I will. Tomorrow. Before you."
Luka groaned, "That's a hangout Marinette, not a date!"
"Ugh- let's just go!" Luka grabbed my wrist and dragged her all the way down the stairs and into the bakery.
"Bye, Mom and Dad! I'm going shopping and Luka's helping." I said before I kissed them both on the cheek.
My Mom smiled, "What a nice boy."
In the corner of my eye, I saw Luka shift uncomfortably, his cheeks were pink.
He's more... unpredictable.
We left and took a cab to Beaugrenelle Paris.
After Luka paid, he waved at the driver, "Merci beaucoup, monsieur. Adieu."
It was pretty busy, so we had to be quick. Luka looked around for any clothes placed that peaked his interests while I just trailed behind him.
He finally landed eyes on something that looked promising.
When we went inside, he immediately began browsing through the outfits, scrunching his nose up in disgust at the clothes he found distasteful and raising his eyebrows at the clothes that interested him.
"Hmm... try these." he handed me a white, flowy blouse and some dark blue jeans. "Tie your hair into a ponytail, let's see what that looks like." he told me.
When I got changed into the clothes and stepped out, Luka was sitting on a little stool, waiting for me.
He rubbed his chin and evaluated the look. "Not bad. Definitely emphasises the word 'elegant'." he noted.
"And the high ponytail is a good accent." he added.
I grinned with glee, "Thank you! It's a bit big, though. It's odd to hear you say such nice comments!" I chuckled.
I expected him to scowl or frown, but surprisingly he smiled and nodded at me, it was a small gesture, but it just shows how much progress I've made.
"Do you want to try another one?" Luka asked.
I nodded, "Something with a different style." I said thoughtfully.
"How about you pick?" he suggested.
I smiled, "Alright! Could I also pick one for you?" I asked with a twinkle in my eyes.
Luka chuckled lightly, "Sure, why not."
