drowning

colby spent his afternoon at the pool. he one hundred percent spent his time looking at the hot lifeguard, sam. jake was a shared mutual friend, the two knew of each other, but didn't actually know each other.

sam sat back in his chair, attentively scanning the area for any signs of struggle. usually, he would have dozed off, but that hot guy - colby, he thinks - kept glancing at him. sam couldn't rest knowing that he had grabbed a hot guys attention, nevermind one he could have a chance with.

colby made eye contact with sam, blushing and immediately pointing his attention to jake and corey, who were shooting water guns at each other in the pool. he wanted to grab sam's attention but how? oh.

he stood up, practically running to the diving board. he waited his turn before running and doing a double front flip into the pool.

when he surfaced, he starting yelling. "lifeguard! help!"

sam snapped out of his daydream and leaped out of his chair. he sprinted to the water and dived in, grabbing the struggling swimmer and lifting them out of the water.

"why the hell would you jump off the diving board if you can't swim?"

colby relished in the skin contact sam was giving him, but not in a sexual way. he coughed with a small laugh, "gotta live on the edge y'know?" even if he did know how to swim.

sam blinked at him and threw him back in the water, swimming back to the edge. he hoped colby didnt see the intense blush on his cheeks. it was totally just sunburn. totally.

colby laughed before beginning to 'drown' again, "wait! i'm scared, sam!" he yells loud enough to hopefully grab sams attention again.

"why are you scared of the pool?" he asks sarcastically.

"because i'm drowning in one!"

sam reached over and grabbed colbys arm, using all of his strength to pull him up. "gosh, you're heavy."

"ouch, that hurts." colby jokes, pushing himself up on the edge. he looks up at sam with a smile.

sam rolls his eyes and chuckles. "you know what, brock, you're an idiot."

"well how else am i supposed to grab a hot guys attention?" he snorts. realizing he admitted his true actions, he blushes and quickly looks away.

sams mouth goes dry and his heart starts fluttering. he quickly shuts his mouth and puts on his playboy smirk. "like, this?" he asks, grabbing colby's bicep before pulling him close, lightly brushing his lips against his. sam suddenly throws himself against colby, pushing him back into the pool. "feel free to hang around until i get off." sam winked.

colby yelps as he's pushed back into the cold water. he resurfaces in time to see sams wink and hear his invitation to stick around. "that's so unfair!" he whines.

"that's love, sweetie." sam said in his most flamboyant voice and hopped back up onto his seat.

colby wrinkles his nose with a small smile.

"colby! incoming!" jake yells before quickly pouncing on him, dunking him back under the water.

corey screeches as he runs across the pool, making a huge leap across the water and body slamming into jake. sam laughs as he watches this happen, his heart swelling.

"you guys suck!" colby spits water out of his mouth and wipes his eyes, but he laughs loudly.

"you love us and you know it!" corey shouts, wrapping his arms around colby and dunking him again.

another pair of footsteps came running towards the pool, and sam leaped into the water, grabbing colby and corey on his way down.

colby surfaces from the two dunking him, coughing. "what is this?! drown colby?" he smiles softly as he sees sam was the one to join them and not elton.

"only in love." sam said, grabbing colby's cheek and pressing a sweet kiss to his lips. "you're cute. lets go on a date."

colby feels his cheeks rise with a blush, looking at the water before even thinking about making eye contact with sam, "when and where?"

"tomorrow? say, 7 o'clock?" sam said in his ear. corey and jake were too busy slapping each others ass to notice the two having a moment.

"i'm so down." colby mumbles back to him, slowly hanging one of his arms over sams shoulder.
