this is lowkey a vent

takes place in the traphouse
(as in corey, elton, sam, colby, jake)

sam watched intently as colby downed the liquid in the red cup as quick as he could, yelling with a wide, drunken smile when he was finished and everyone cheered him on.

sam wasn't much of a drunk on this particular night. elton had planned a final house party since they were moving out next week, there was no 'getting out of it' in this stance. it was either, party with us or leave the house for the night.

he sighed, swishing the alcoholic beverage around in his cup. he watched it swirl in circles, a sudden wave of nausea filling his lungs and brain like he could faint.

"sammy!" he snapped his head up to a drunken jake, "c'mon! lighten up, have some fun, dude!"

"i'm good, bro. i'm.. just gonna watch over, make sure no one gets hurt." sam smiled weakly at his friend, thanking god at least someone was having fun.

"that's what elton is for!" jake pat sam's shoulder lazily, "alright, bro, but it's your fun on the line!" he smiled before running off with his drink high in the air, not allowing it to be knocked from his fingers.

sam slowly pushed himself away from the counter, deciding to travel through the crowds of people. he wanted to locate elton and stay near someone who hadn't gotten themself highly intoxicated.

"elton?!" he yelled over the blaring music, looking away from the seizure inducing lights every second or two. "elton-!" he yelled once more.

frowning when he couldn't seem to track down his friend, he became increasingly concerned when he watched a shirtless brennen travel down their staircase quickly and sneak out the front door with his belongings.

elton suddenly came bounding past, an undeniably angry frown on his face. "samuel! have you seen brennen?"

the mention of sam's name made him shiver to goosebumps, wondering why elton was gritting his teeth as he quickly glanced around the overly crowded rooms.

"he- he just ran out the front? what's goin on?!" he yelled over the music and loud karaoke.

"get the fuck upstairs, colby needs you! do not let anyone else besides jake and corey upstairs!" elton gently pushed sam aside, not wanting to harm someone he currently wanted to protect.

sam's blood ran cold and his heartbeat pounded in his ears as he heard colby's name slip past elton's lips. he dropped his cup, not caring about the quiet clatter or the mess it made when it hit the floor.

"get out of the way!" sam yelled loud enough for people to hear and make a small path for him to rush up the staircase.

he felt like he wasn't running fast enough even after almost tripping over the router chords that kept everyone's desktops hooked to the internet.

"colby?" sam panted as he anxiously stepped into his friends room.

he almost stepped back out, hoping what he saw wasn't real. hoping that what he thinks happened didn't happen.

colby laid across his bed. a piece of tape horribly placed over his mouth while his arms were bound in front of him, his pants lowered to his ankles.

sam could see his tear stained cheeks and sweaty hair covering his eyes, his chest rising and falling quickly. how long had colby been struggling?

as he grabbed a hold of his bearings, he finally raced forward with a curse. he figured elton was too blinded by his own rage to stop and help colby out of this mess.
