The Order of the Pig Story 5: A Secret Beneath the Waves

Chapter 4 - Kelpie's Call

We all went back to our houses. It was getting dark when Reuben and I got home. We both went to bed. Reuben was jumping and running all over me. I laughed.

Jesse: "Reuben! That tickles!"

He didn't stop.

Jesse: "Reuben! Calm down, pal! I know your excited but little pigs need their sleep."

It took him a while to settle right down. He snuggled up, looked up at me and oinked happily.

Jesse: "A story?"

Reuben smiled and nodded.

Jesse: "Hmm. Let's see... Once upon a time, there was a group of friends. This group of friends was very bored because it had been a while since their last adventure. They met a mysterious fish who agreed to take them on a super fun underwater adventure where they explore new places and meet new friends..."

Suddenly, I heard snoring. I looked at Reuben who was now fast asleep. I kissed his forehead and whispered...

Jesse: "Good night, buddy."

I wonder what how Petra is doing with that fish...

Jesse told me to tell you what I did that night when everyone went home. After decorating half my house I was absolutely exhausted. I decided to turn in early.

Petra: "Good night, Kelpie."

Kelpie: "Sleep well, Petra."

Some time later...

Kelpie: "Finally, she's gone. I still don't understand why I had to bring her. But now her friends are coming. I better call the boss."

Kelpie held up his fin and a little red light was flashing on it. Suddenly, a voice came from the fish's fin.

King Saturn: "Kelpie, what is your report?"

Kelpie: "Your most excellent majesty, I have found the girl."

King Saturn: "And..."

Kelpie: "She has agreed to come."

King Saturn: "Brilliant! But what negotiations did you need to make to get her to agree to this?"

Kelpie: "He's where I present to you the complications, sire. You see, there's annoying news and bad news."

King Saturn: "Spit it out, Kelpie!"

Kelpie: "Well, the annoying news is that I told her I would show her around Subtropolis as a sort of 'adventure'."

King Saturn: "Hmm. That does delay things a bit. He will get restless."

Kelpie: "Yes sir. However, that's not the worst news."

King Saturn: "What is it?"

Kelpie: "She's bringing her friends."

King Saturn: "How many are there?"

Kelpie: "Including her, 5. Plus a small pig."

King Saturn: "What's a pig?"

Kelpie: "A small pink creature of the land that oinks. Seems harmless."

King Saturn: "We must not let them interfere with our plan. We have Sammy. Petra is the last piece of the puzzle."

Kelpie: "I will make sure her friends stay out of the way."

King Saturn: "Very good, Kelpie."

Kelpie: "One more thing, Sire."

King Saturn: "Yes?"

Kelpie: "What about your daughter?"

King Saturn paused.

King Saturn: "If she knows what's good for her, she'll pipe down. Anyway, I'll see you tomorrow, Kelpie."

Kelpie: "Indeed, sire. Good night."

King Saturn and Kelpie had something a lot bigger in mind than just an adventure.
