PEARL'S POV
When I got above the Cloud I began my search for a shark. But I was having some doubts.
Pearl: "Maybe I should have told them I've never talked to a shark before. But everything was tense enough. I mean, I can speak shark but I've never talked to a shark directly. I just need one to listen."
I saw a shark in the distance. I took a deep breath in and out and I started to swim towards it.
Pearl: "A great white male. Please listen."
When it saw me, it charged towards me. As it got closer I got more nervous. I shouted.
Pearl: "Stop!"
The shark stoped.
Shark: "You speak shark, little mermaid?"
Pearl: "Y-yes. My name is-is Pearl. And I am... the soon to be Queen... of Subtropolis."
He started to circle me.
Shark: "Ahh. Yes. The merfolk city below the Abyss. You sound like you've never talked to a shark before."
Pearl: "I... I haven't."
Xander: "Really? We'll your majesty, my name is Xander."
Pearl: "You seem rather pleasant for a shark. Is this a trick?"
Xander: "Hahaha. No. It's not a trick. You've just caught me in a good mood. Although, you are in my territory. So I suggest either state your business quickly or leave."
Pearl: "I have a proposition."
Xander: "I'm listening..."
Pearl: "My father, the King of Subtropolis, needs to be executed for committing various crimes. I seek the help of a shark to come with me and end him."
Xander: "What's in it for me?"
Pearl: "A full belly."
Xander: "Hahaha. A sharks belly is never full. But I like the sound of a nice tasty king. How do you expect this to work?"
Pearl: "You come with me to the outskirts of Subtropolis. My father is expected to come out of the Abyss. On my word, you take him."
Xander: "You expect him to come out?"
Pearl: "Yes. I have friends down there helping me. I trust them."
Xander: "Maybe. But how can I trust that you are telling me the truth and that you're not just wasting my time."
Pearl: "And how can I trust you that you won't eat me when I turn my back."
Xander: "Yeah. Good point."
Xander thought.
Xander: "Alright. You got a deal. Lead the way, your majesty."
Pearl: "Thank you!"
I swam back towards Subtropolis with Xander behind me.
