Chapter 10 - Ditch the Fish!

JESSE'S POV

Kelpie showed us around nearly half of Subtropolis and still no sign of Petra. Every so often I would say,

Jesse: "We should go back!"

Then Kelpie would reply harshly.

Kelpie: "No!"

I didn't know what to think. But other than that we were having fun. Soon we met a group of mermaids and they gave us flower crowns. Made with seaweed and flowers. When I say they gave us flower crowns, I mean they gave us all flower crowns. When they left, Olivia and I giggled at the boys.

Lukas: "Jealous they might look better on us?"

Olivia: "Haha. No."

Axel: "What do they mean?"

Kelpie: "If a merfolk gives you a flower crown then they want to be your friend. It is a sign of peace and friendship."

Axel: "Cool!"

Reuben swam up to me with his little flower crown.

Jesse: "Aww. Reuben, you look adorable!"

The little pig smiled. Soon, Kelpie stopped us.

Kelpie: "You all stay around here. I need to go and do something."

And he swam off.

Axel: "Umm. Ok."

Lukas: "*sigh* I don't like this, Jesse. Something's up. Surely you feel it too. We need to go back. I somehow feel like Petra's in trouble."

Jesse: "I can feel it too. But to be honest, I don't know what to think. What would King Saturn want with Petra? It's all so jumbled up."

Just then, a little merboy swam at me and wrapped his arms around me.

Jesse: "Ah!"

I looked down.

Jesse: "Caleb? You startled me, buddy. What are you doing here?"

He looked up at me with a big grin.

Caleb: "Jesse!"

We all smiled. Just them a mermaid swam up to us and she looked worried.

Jesse: "Ivy? Are you ok?"

Ivy: "Jesse, you must know something!"

She seemed out of breathe. Caleb saw Reuben and he swam to him and hugged him.

Jesse: "What is it?"

Ivy: "I've been following you for a while, waiting for Kelpie to leave you alone."

Olivia: "What is this about?"

Ivy: "I should have told you before but I was scared."

Jesse: "It's ok now. Please, tell me."

Ivy: "It's about you're friend, Petra."

Jesse, Olivia, Axel & Lukas: "What?!"

Ivy: "She's in trouble!"

Lukas: "I knew it!"

Axel: "Wait. How do you know her name?"

Ivy: "Everyone down here knows who she is."

Jesse: "Please. Tell us everything."

She told us about the Prophecy of the Twins and what King Saturn wants to do.

Jesse: "Oh my. Petra needs our help!"

Olivia: "The Kraken is real?!"

Axel: "Petra has a twin brother?!"

Ivy: "Yes. The kraken is real and she's probably with him now. And Yes, Petra does have a twin brother, but like I said, not by blood."

Lukas: "What are we going to do? We can't just stay here!"

Olivia: "Yeah! If Kelpie is in on it... how do we do this?"

Ivy: "My friends, you're forgetting."

Axel: "Huh?"

Ivy: "Kelpie is just a small fish. Sure he has power, being connected with the king, but we're bigger than him."

We all smirked at each other, knowing exactly what to do. We talked and planed for a bit, then Kelpie came back.

Kelpie: "Alright, Order of the Pig, let's... Huh? Ivy? What are you doing here? You have no business here!"

Ivy: "Now, Caleb!"

Just then, the little merboy grabbed the fish from behind and he did not let go.

Kelpie: "What the! Let go of me this instant!"

Ivy: "Go, my friends! We'll deal with the fish."

I swam up to her and gave her a quick hug.

Jesse: "Thanks for everything, Ivy."

Ivy: "And to you as well. Be safe."

Jesse: "We will. I promise."

I swam over to Caleb and gave him a little hug.

Jesse: "See you later, little buddy."

He giggled. I then looked at Kelpie in Caleb's hand.

Jesse: "You should have thought twice before messing with my friend."

And I swam off.

Jesse: "Say goodbye, Reuben." He waved back to them. We then swam as fast as we could.

Axel: "We're are we going?"

Lukas: "To the palace!"

Olivia: "Right! That's a start!"
