The Order of the Pig Story 5: A Secret Beneath the Waves

Chapter 6 - Through the Abyss

When we were deep enough we started looking around for Kelpie. He was a rather small fish.

Kelpie: "Over here!"

We looked to our left. Kelpie was waiting.

Kelpie: "Now. We have a little ways to go before we get there."

Jesse: "Quick question. What about sharks and other deadly sea life?"

Kelpie: "As long as you're with me you have nothing to fear. However, if you see a shark, whatever you do, don't scream. They hate that."

We all gulped and nodded. We did swim for quite a while before Kelpie told us to stop.

Kelpie: "Here we are."

We looked around. There was nothing but darkness below.

Petra: "Now what?"

Axel: "We've been swimming for ages!"

Kelpie: "It's been like 10 minutes."

Jesse: "We haven't seen anything but a few coral reefs!"

Kelpie: "True but..."

Lukas: "Now we're out in the middle of the ocean with nothing but a talking fish!"

Kelpie: "Now that's just rude."

Olivia: "When you said adventure I thought you meant adventure! Not whatever this is!"

Kelpie: "We are. It's just..."

Petra: "Kelpie, you better not be toying with us! What do we do now?!"

There was a pause.

Kelpie: "Are you all quite finished?"

Order of the Pig: "Huh?"

Kelpie: "The Secret Merfolk city of Subtropolis is down there."

We looked down. It was pitch black.

Axel: "There's nothing down there."

Lukas: "I don't see anything."

Kelpie: "Well, It wouldn't bee much of a secret if it was easy to see. We have a dark black cloud cover the entire city to prevent unwanted attention."

Olivia: "Makes sense."

Kelpie: "Exactly. Now come on."

The small fish disappeared into the darkness below.

Kelpie: "Remember! Whatever happens, just keep swimming down!"

Jesse: "You guys ready?"

Axel: "I guess."

Lukas: "We should go in pairs."

Petra: "Right. Hold hands."

Olivia: "Just keep swimming down."

Jesse: "I got Reuben."

Lukas: "I'll go with Petra."

Olivia: "Then Axel and I will go."

We got into our pairs and held hands tight.

Order of the Pig: "1!.. 2!.. 3!!"

We swam down and disappeared into the darkness beneath the waves.
