Chapter 11 - Pearl's Story

PETRA'S POV

Sammy: "Petra, you've been swimming back and forth for the past 5 minutes. Settle down."

Petra: "I can't! My friends are out there alone with that stupid fish! Knowing them, they probably realised something's wrong and they're going to try and save me, not knowing what Saturn's capable of!"

Sammy: "*sigh* Bailey, can you..."

Just then a tentacle came up and wrapped itself around my waist. And he wouldn't let go.

Petra: "Sammy! Bailey!"

Sammy swam up to me.

Sammy: "Petra, listen to me."

Petra: "No!"

Sammy: "Petra listen to me! I'm the oldest."

Petra: "We're twins!"

Sammy: "I'm... older by a few hours!"

Petra: "No you're not!"

Sammy: "Yes I am! The prophecy said so!"

Petra: "It did not! You're lying!"

Sammy: "How would you know?!"

Petra: "I can tell! Plus, you stuttered!"

Sammy: "Ok, ok! Fighting isn't getting us anywhere!"

Petra: "You started it!"

Sammy: "I did not!"

He sighed and put his hands on my shoulders. I stopped struggling.

Sammy: "Petra, listen. I know you're scared and you're worried about you're friends but..."

Before Sammy could finish we heard a voice coming from back at the cave entrance. Bailey let go of me.

Pearl: "Hello?! Sammy?! Petra?!"

Sammy: "Pearl?"

Petra: "I'm gonna kill her."

Before Sammy could do anything I charged back to the entrance.

Sammy: "No! Petra, wait!"

Sammy swam after me. I swam as fast as I could to the cave entrance and with my new tail, I was extra fast. My emotions were everywhere. I was worried about my friends and I was mad and I needed someone to be mad at. When Pearl saw me charging out of the shadows, she backed away from the bars. I rammed into them and tried to reach her.

Petra: "You! This is all your fault! Where are my friends?! You better not hurt them or I swear I'll...!!!"

That is when Sammy caught me. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me back.

Sammy: "Petra, calm down!"

I was struggling.

Petra: "No! Let go of me, Sammy! It's her fault my friends are in danger!"

Sammy: "No, Petra! Just listen!"

Pearl: "I thought you might have gotten her under control by now, Sammy."

Sammy: "Oh, come on, Pearl! You really can't blame her! It was different when your father brought me here. I was too young to understand! How did you expect Petra to react? She's confused, scared and worried about her friends!"
