Chapter 11

----- Same Day, 10:58 PM, Yagami Residence -----

At the Yagami Residence, Shamal immediately went to call for Hayate as soon as possible, apologizing to her for taking too long outside and leaving Hayate all alone at home. She had to come up with a simple lie of accidently leaving the phone back home and that she had just came back with everyone together.

Not very surprising, Hayate isn’t mad at all and that she was glad that everyone is alright. She told her that it would be too lonely for just her and Suzuka to poke at pots by themselves, so Suzuka invited Hayate to her place instead. Hayate then tells Shamal that she had already been treated to dinner at Suzuka’s home and that she had all the ingredients cut up in the fridge, and that the broth is already in the pot, so it should be ready to eat and then telling the Knights to eat up.

Shamal again apologizes about it and that she switches herself with Vita on the phone. After Vita picks it up, Shamal slowly walks outside to see the stars that filled the night sky. Signum then joins her outside, staring in the same night sky as she does.

Signum: We’ve really made her feel lonely.

Shamal: Yes… I feel really bad about it that much…

Signum: The same could be said to us as well… But anyway, who in the world was that man that saved you?

Shamal: I don’t know, but he doesn’t seem to be one of our enemies, at the least. Speaking of enemies, apparently we got another one who just so happens to be a friend to Novena-chan and surprisingly, despite being on the opposite side and had been told about our current condition, she still wishes to help us fill up the Book of Darkness.

Signum: Was it a girl with gold hair like Testarossa?

Shamal: Yes, the other Testarossa.

Signum: Impressive, now we got two allies on the Bureau’s side as well. Speaking of those guys in the Administration Bureau, they’ll now put out an even bigger effort from now on.

Shamal: And that cannon blast used up quite a few pages too.

Signum: But we were quite fortunate that with Dale’s help, we’ve gained more than us four alone could gather but from the looks of it, it seems Dale would be out of commission for a while and we’ll have to gather the Linker Cores on our own again. And we really don’t have much time left. As soon as possible… We must make our master, Hayate, into the true owner of the Book of Darkness.

Shamal: You’re right.

Vita: Signum! Hayate wants to talk to you.

Signum: Right.

----- Same Day, Same Time, TSAB Temporary Base of Operation -----

At the building where Nanoha and the rest of the Bureau are stationed, Amy gives instructions on the devices new systems that they have within them. She told the two mages that the Cartridge System is very difficult to handle and that it’s usually not something that gets integrated into delicate intelligent devices like Raising Heart and Bardiche.

What makes the system difficult to handle was because the risk of the main body being destroyed is high and despite that risk the two devices insisted on them to do it. Amy told them that the two devices must have been very frustrated that they weren’t able to protect their masters, that they couldn’t answer the trust that their masters have shown them.

Both girls felt very grateful and heartwarming that the devices would risk themselves to be destroyed just so they could protect their master as they thank them for it. Amy then explains that the two devices have three different modes. Nanoha’s Raising Heart has the mid-range shooting Accel, the Buster Cannon, and the Full Drive Excelion Mode. As for Fate’s device, Bardiche has the default Assault, Haken the scythe, and the Full Drive Zanbar Form.
