Today was another practice day so after breakfast I had to basically plead with my mother to let me go. She finally agreed but only if I didn't drive. I called Dalton in hopes he wasn't already there.

"Hey, how ya feeling?" He asked me concerned.

"Much much better. I was actually calling to ask you something."

"Sure, what's up."

"You aren't already at Bradys, by chance?" I asked sweetly.

"Nooo." He dragged out the word. "Don't you think you should stay home and get some more rest?"

I sighed, "Its possible but I'm feeling waaaaay better plus you know how I get when I'm in the house for too long."

He laughed, "Alright, well you're in luck because I'm running late. I'll be there in a few."

"Ah, you're the best! I'll even buy you Starbucks."

"Hell yeah. See you in a bit."

I love the fact that all the boys can be bought.

Dalton picked me up and we went through the drive thru at Starbucks. Then it was off to Bradys. The boys weren't too thrilled that Dalton was late and even less thrilled that he got Starbucks and they didn't. But they all greeted me and asked how I was doing. Ha, special treatment. Practice began. The boys were talking over what the setlist should be. The current debate was whether to put their new single 'From The Start' at the beginning or if they should end with it.

"Close with it. You know the feel of it, the fans will go nuts. It'll be freakin sick." I chimed in.

The boys pondered this for a bit then agreed. "This is why you guys keep me around. Im full of great ideas."

"Yeah you are. You're gonna be of good use on the BStars tour." Brady said.

"How many times are we gonna go over this? I'm sorry but I have to sit this one out. Next time though." Those words feel so rehearsed coming outta my mouth. Then again, they kinda were. I mean how many times have I thought and given this excuse?

All together without missing a damn beat, "You're going!"

"You realize that you guys can't make me go, right?"

They laughed, hard. "You mean we can't go into your house," Brady said.

"Drag you out kicking and screaming," Drew continued.

"Pack some of your shit," Dalton added.

"Put you in the van and take off?" Clayton finished.

I stared at them, shit..they are absolutely right. Well damn. I opened my mouth but shut it and just shook my head. "Okay you've got wonderful points there but would you really do that to me?"

They all looked at each other, "Oh yeah." Once again said in unison.

"I'm a bit terrified because I know you boys aren't joking."

I was seriously considering just giving in and going but...I just I can't. It'd be bad...or really good...no bad! Ugh Im just confusing myself.

It was just after eleven when Dalton and I left Bradys. He pulled up to my house and I gave him a hug.

"Thanks so much for the ride." I said to him.

He yawned, "Of course."

"Go home and get some sleep. You look exhausted."

"I am exhausted. I went to bed kinda late and this morning they were working on the roof so all I could hear was bang, bang, bang. It was impossible to get back to sleep."

"Aww that sucks. Hopefully, you'll sleep better tonight."

"Doubtful. They'll be back at 5 in the fucking morning, working directly over my room."

"Why didn't you just stay at Bradys?"

He laughed, "Have you heard Brady snore? I'd be better off with the bangs. Plus I didn't wanna crash on the couch tonight."

"Ha, good point. Well you can stay here?"

"Thanks but I don't wanna be a bother."

"I see.." I opened the door, went in for another hug and grabbed the keys from the ignition.

I got out the car, hitting the lock button, and shut the door. "Well dear, that's too bad." I said dangling the keys in front of me. I saw realization hit his face and I raced towards the door. I found my house key on Daltons key chain, yes he had a spare key too, and I unlocked the door. I was running up the stairs as fast as I could but I could hear him gaining on me. Damn him and his long legs. I had just made it into my room when I felt an arm wrap around my waist. I let out a squeak as Dalton shut the door.

"Give me the keys Lyrie."

"Never!" I laughed at him.

He picked me up and I struggled to get out of his grasp. Somehow we managed to get to my bed. We wrestled a bit before he finally pinned me. I was laughing too hard to fight back.

"Give me back my keys or else." He looked at me, eyebrows up.

Shit, I knew that look.. "Dalton..."

It was no use, he started to tickle me. Now normally I wasn't very ticklish but when I was already laughing, I become vulnerable. "Okay, okay I give in!"

We were both laughing now as he stopped. I looked at him and he stared back at me, still on top of me. He lowered his head and his lips meet mine. We kissed. Only for a second. He pulled away and sat next to me. I sat up, confused.

"Well um, here are your keys." I said handing them back to him.

"Yeah thanks," was all he said when he took them from me.

No one moved. No one said anything. I couldn't take the silence anymore. "So....did we just.."

"Yeah..."

I didn't know what to say so instead I got up and went to my drawers. I held up two pairs of shorts, "So, do you want the basketball shorts or my booty shorts?"

He looked up and laughed, "As much as I like the way the booty shorts make my butt look, I think I'm gonna go with the basketball shorts."

"Suit yourself," I said throwing them to him.

We got ready for bed in silence. Even after what had just happened, I wasnt uncomfortable changing in front of him. I turned on the TV and we climbed in bed. My head was on his shoulder. I was trying my best to keep things the same as if the kiss never happened. I could feel Dalton's breathing start to even out. He was falling asleep.

"Dalton.." I whispered.

"Hmm?" He made the sound half asleep.

"It was good." Was all I replied.

I saw a smile form on his lips before I shut my eyes for the night.
