The story is now complete! Thank you all for sticking with me, it means the world <3 Its highly possible I'll write more fanfiction so hopefully you wont miss me for too long. Enjoy :)
Tour was...entertaining to say the least. We had been gone for about 2 and a half weeks. I was the only girl surrounded by all these guys but I was never uncomfortable. I had gotten to know the other bands pretty well. The boys in Farewell, My Love were hilarious. I'd make them do my make up from time to time and they happily obliged. One of my favorite things to do was van hop. We'd be at a rest stop and I'd just climb in another van occupying whatever seat was empty. Okay so I was having a blast.
Late night drives were my favorite. When you're driving in the middle of nowhere, the stars just shine so bright. Dalton would usually fall asleep first and I would be laying down star gazing through the sun roof until I drifted off as well. We didnt spend many nights sleeping in the van though. We usually had the time and money to be able to stay in a hotel, which was nice. Traveling by van for hours on end kinda makes you feel like you're roughing it but then we'd check into a nice hotel and I'd realize how fortunate (or spoiled) we really are.
The shows were even more insane. I couldnt believe how many kids were actually showing up to support not just Late Nite Reading but all the bands. This was Farewell, My Love's first tour and you could just see it on their faces every night on stage how exciting this was for them. We did a show at a coffee house a few dates ago and the turn out was overwhelming. I mean, the fans totally packed the place and the boys were just ecstatic. Its funny, there are times I would forget that Dalton and I were actually a couple because not many things changed from the way we acted before. I would be at the merch table selling things and he'd come up and put his arms around me and kiss me and it'd take second to register that this was okay. I loved it though, those little surprises.
Most of the fans were really happy for us. Asking to take pictures with us and some would even ask me to sign things. A lot of them knew me from previous tours but the ones that didnt were so adorable when they were too shy to talk to me. Dalton made it a point every night after they finished their set, to tell the crowd to visit the merch table where 'his lovely girlfriend was working.' It embarressed the hell out of me at first but now I just smile and roll my eyes.
We've had our fair share of bumps along the way like traffic jams and blow out tires but overall things were running smoothly. I had been making videos almost everyday and taking candid pictures of the boths, much to their disliking, for my job back home. I made Dalton edit the videos because I was never any good at it and plus it was complicated. Jimmie said he was super stoked on the stuff I had sent it. It got me thinking a lot about my future and what I want to do after we all graduate this spring.
The boys were all set in their music career and would even continue to do some college courses but I hadnt given much thought to the future. I was experiencing so many new things on this tour and I realized that this is where I belonged, on the road with them. I made a mental note to look into careers in the music field that would allow me to travel with the boys.
"Lyrie?" I heard my name being called. It snapped me from my thoughts.
"Out here." I yelled back. I soon felt two arms around me and a mouth meeting mine.
"You okay out here?" Dalton asked looking into my eyes.
"Yeah, I was just thinking about tour and stuff." I offered him a smile.
"Mhm, I see. Its getting late though, and we gotta head out early. Wanna come to bed?"
I took his hand, "Now thats an offer I cant refuse."
We walked back into the hotel room and crawled into bed. We werent alone though, Brady was already fast asleep on the right side of the bed. I took my rightful spot in the middle and Dalton laid next to me. This is where I belong. This is how I hope it always will be, my best friend and my boyfriend at my side forever.
