Percy POV

No

I stumbled backwards, matching into Jason for protection.

I wanted to scream, to yell.

But I couldn't

The words stuck in my throat, the feeling of betrayal overwhelming me.

'No...' I muttered, lacing my hand with Jason's

'Percy' the man said slowly, edging forwards. 'It's ok'

I snapped

'Get away!' I yelled, no longer leaning on Jason.

'Percy...' He said pathetically

I marched towards him 'You're no father to me.'

'I'm your dad! Just hear me put for god's sake' he said, finally losing his calm.

I swung my fist at him, overcome with rage. I felt as it connected with his hard jaw. He stumbled back, clutching his mouth I heard a whimper of pain and felt a pang of guilt.

As he stood up, his arms in a defensive pose I felt a rush of anger flush the guilt out of my system.

'How could you leave her?! Leave me?! Fathers are supposed to be around!' I yelled, hitting him in the chest before I felt strong arms pulling me back.

I kicked and thrashed 'let mE GO!' I yelled blindly, not quite sure who I was addressing.

'Percy calm down' I heard the gentle voice in my ear as I struggled more.

I tried to escape Jason but his grip was vice. 'Let me go!' I repeated, struggling more to finish what I had begun.

'Not until you calm down' I was surprised at how calm his tone was.

'I know you're hurting, and upset but please don't do anything you'll regret' he begged.

I slowly calmed down, realising struggling against the high school quarterback would not be my best idea. I felt Jason slowly release me and I engulfed him in a bear hug and felt tears prick my eyes.

'I'm sorry' I whispered, my tears slowly soaking his shirt.

Jason's POV

"Sorry 'bout him" I muttered to the man, handing him an ice pack for his swollen jaw.

'It's fine' he manages, wincing at his words.

'Percy?' I called expectantly, knowing he wouldn't want to come

'What?' he yelled back

'You know what now get your ass down here!'

I heard some undiscernable mumbles but eventually heard the sound of steady feet clomping down the stairs.

'Yes?' he said, a thick layer of sarcasm coating his voice.

I stared pointedly at him, before motioning to the chair opposite his so-called father.

He gave a prolonged groan but eventually set himself down in the plush armchair.

'Now' I said

They both looked up at me

'You two will have a civilised conversation and sort everything out'

Percy grumbled and crossed his arms.

God, he looks adorable

I let out a quiet snigger at his level of immaturity.

'You look like a pouty toddler' I whispered into his ear.
