The wind began to pick up, accompanied by some gray clouds that covered any sunlight. The sound of thunder rumbled at a distance. Loki and I turned to Thor and noted some electric sparks coming from the latter.

"Brother," Loki started as he pointed them out.

I could tell Thor was getting furious as he gripped his hands into fists. He had just lost his father. It brought me back to around the time Mom and Dad were killed. I, too, was enraged and wanted so badly to track down the person or people responsible for their deaths.

Thor turned, glaring at Loki. "This was your doing."

It was the grief taking hold. I didn't want to end up on his wrath, either. So I didn't say a word.

Amid the thunder booming, a black portal and a green light appeared a few feet from us. I recalled Odin explaining that his own life was the only thing keeping Hela from wreaking havoc, and that she was already making an appearance. Talking would have to wait until later.

Just after taking a few steps forward, Loki's outfit shifted back to his Asgardian attire at the same time that Thor hit the ground with Mjolnir, wearing his armor and cape.

The portal had gotten bigger, and a woman with long black hair and green eyes stepped out of it and stared at us. I assumed she was Hela, and the vibes she sent out gave me a bad feeling. Loki had me stay behind him, noting the danger facing us.

"So he's gone," Hela stated as the portal that had been her prison for some eons vanished. "That's a shame. I would've liked to have seen that."

"You must be Hela," Thor started. "I'm Thor, son of Odin."

"Really? You don't look like him."

"Perhaps we can come to an arrangement," Loki suggested as he kept his cool.

"You sound like him," Hela complimented him and glanced at me. "And you must be new."

"Not completely," I said, keeping a straight face, holding back any nervousness.

"Kneel."

"Beg your pardon?" Loki questioned.

Not today! I thought back to Steve's remark to Loki in Stuttgart when he told him the same thing.

Hela summoned a sword, already making a threat. "Kneel. Before your queen."

"I don't think so," Thor remarked and threw Mjolnir at her.

The unexpected thing. Hela caught the mallet with one hand. My eyes shot wider than saucers. However, she was Odin's daughter and had been worthy of lifting Mjolnir.

"It's not possible," Thor gaped as he tried calling the mallet back to him.

"Darling, you have no idea what's possible," Hela smiled wickedly and crushed Mjolnir, which sent out a burst of lightning and blunt force.

I almost fell backwards, but ended up balanced with Loki's help. I saw that Mjolnir was in pieces. Hela placed both hands over her head as if straightening her hair, and summoned an eerie multi-horned crown. She made two swords appear and advanced towards us.

"Bring us back!" Loki shouted upward and grabbed my hand.

"No!" Thor hollered and was about to charge at Hela when the Bifrost opened, and we were pulled by it.

I had to guess the idea was to strand Hela back on Earth to prevent her from entering Asgard, where she was extremely powerful. Still, it was one of the worst ideas ever, as folks, including those I know and care for, were likely to be in danger around her.

"Loki! Casey!" Thor shouted in warning.

I glanced behind me and saw Hela had managed to get through the Bifrost and was advancing towards us. Loki summoned a dagger and threw it at her. Hela caught it and threw it back at him, knocking him off course, taking me along with him and blacking out.
