I was close to telekinetically throwing Craig out of the club, but I didn't want to draw that kind of attention to the majority of people around us.
"You two need some serious therapy," Markus pointed out.
He wasn't wrong. Craig thought he didn't need a therapist. However, he could use one to work on his attitude and stop denouncing his past.
"I'm fine," my ex shook his head. "I don't need to consult with one. Though Casey could use some, given how wrecked she's been."
"Hey!" I gave him a murderous expression. One word of insult: I was ready to strangle him.
"It's true. Losing your parents has made you wallow in self-pity and asking everyone to feel sorry for you."
Something snapped inside me. I ended up telekinetically throwing Craig onto the dancefloor. People who were on there scattered as he landed.
"You're such a flipping liar!" I yelled as I stomped over to him. "You don't know a single thing about me." I telekinetically lifted him into the air. "I loved my parents so freaking much. You couldn't stand to see that since your own parents hated your existence!"
"Casey, don't," Craig shook his head.
"What? You think I'd stoop so low and kill ya? I was having a blast until you showed up! Besides, I'm not your girlfriend anymore if the message crossed you."
"Where did you get that idea? Oh, lemme guess, those so-called friends of yours. They talked you into it."
I mentally choked Craig and was set to strangle him.
"Don't do it, Casey," Markus called out. "I know you won't hurt him. You're an amazing girl. Even though I just met you, I can tell you'll go to a lot of places and do so many extraordinary things. I know there'll be some guy who'll love you, appreciate you and support you. Your ex doesn't realize what he's lost."
I dropped Craig, and he slammed on the floor. I didn't care if he broke a bone. The bouncer had our group leave the club since I inadvertently caused a scene, and people started talking. It was bound to get out to Fury, and he'd have my butt for my Carrie act.
"Markus, I'm so sorry I got you kicked out," I apologized to him once we were outside.
"It's no biggie," he smiled at me. "At first, I didn't wanna come here. Meeting you and your friends was the best thing that's happened to me. Whatever happened between you and your ex, I hope you'll work something out with him someday."
"Maybe if he quits being arrogant, learns to be a more sympathetic person, and works out his issues,"
"It'll take time. I should get home."
"Same for us."
"I hope to see you around sometime."
Markus waved the girls and me off as we headed home. We talked about how nice of a guy he was. Even though we had just met, Markus was a great listener and sympathetic. His parents must've brought him up well.
When we returned home, we found Sean and Vince playing a shooter game on the Xbox.
"How'd it go?" Vince asked as he paused the game.
"For the most part, it was great," I replied.
"Case met a guy who was super nice," Nicole smiled.
"You sure you're ready to start a serious relationship?" Sean wondered turning to me with a concerned expression. After breaking up with Craig, I avoided any topic that had to do with romance. Sean had been a protective big brother whenever my ex tried to see me in person.
