The following day, I snuck away from Loki and traced Thor all the way to the Hulk's residence, which was several stories high. Clearly, there was no literal door, but an electronic cell door. There was a group of healers tending to Thor, who lay unconscious on the floor. The Hulk himself was relaxing in what I guessed was a hot tub.
I tapped into my telepathy, hoping to get some information. Trying to read the Hulk's mind was like trying to read a blank book, though there were some hints that he remembered me as a fellow Avenger.
Thor suddenly yelled as he woke up, startling the healers, and they all left the room.
"Take it easy, dude," I told him as he sat up with a groan. "You just got out of a combination of a Colosseum fight and WrestleMania." I rushed over to help steady him.
"Where are we?" Thor wondered as he found his breastplate and slid it on.
"Uh," I started, but was cut off by a splash from the hot tub, and the Hulk emerged from the shadows.
Thor raised his hands. "Are we cool?"
The Hulk let out a soft growl and nodded.
"It's Hulk in a hot tub."
"That I know," I mumbled and took a seat on a sofa.
"So how long have you been like that?" Thor asked the Hulk as he went over to a massive window.
"Like what?" the Hulk wondered.
"Like this. Big, and green, and stupid."
Don't. I shook my head at Thor.
"Hulk always Hulk," the Hulk simply answered.
"How'd you get here?" Thor inquired while gazing out the window.
"Winning."
"You mean cheating, huh? Were they wearing one of these when you won?" Thor pulled down his collar, revealing a small disc-like device attached to his neck. "How'd you arrive here?"
The Hulk mimed a plane, whooshing, and splashed. "Quinjet."
"Yes. Now, where is the Quinjet now?"
The Hulk moved to get out of the hot tub. I looked down at my feet, knowing what was coming.
"That's naked," Thor chuckled nervously, turning to me as the Hulk passed him. "He's very naked. It's in my brain now."
"Quinjet," the Hulk pointed out the window.
I stood up and went over to it as Thor looked out. The Quinjet wasn't hard to spot among a series of fallen debris. If it was in working condition, we could potentially use it to get off the planet.
"Yes! Yes!" Thor grinned with high hopes. "I'm getting us out of here. This is a terrible, awful place."
"Not to mention insane," I added as the Hulk sat on the edge of a bed that was a giant skull of an unearthly massive creature with sharp teeth.
"You're gonna love Asgard," Thor told the Hulk as he slid on his gloves. "It's big. It's golden. Shiny."
"Been there. Spent almost four years there without contact with my friends and family."
"Hulk stay," the Hulk said, then bit into a massive fruit.
"No, no, no. My people need me to get back to Asgard," Thor stated. "We must prevent Ragnarok."
"Ragnarok?"
"The prophesied death of my home world. The end of days; it's the end of..."
The Hulk yawned, uninterested. There was no point in explaining everything to him.
