“Let me go you big freak!” Lillianna yelled once she had regained consciences.
“I told you she would yell, I told you we should have gaged her,” The man in a black mask whispered.
“Oh be quiet! I told you to get the king!” The other man agued.
“But he was being protected,” The other replied, sulking.
“Yeah some protection, he was a KID!” The other yelled.
“Anyway the king will come back for her and then we’ll get him.” One of them said proudly.
“He'll probably just send the guards, then will be in trouble!”
“Oh yeah, I didn't think about that.”
“Well, then it’s a good thing I hired you for your muscles not your brains because it’s obvious that you don’t have a brain!” One of them exclaimed before he walked away, complaining to the empty air.
“Did you mean Mike?” Lilliana asked, innocently.
“What?” The man spat.
“He’s the bravest person in the world, he'll ride in hear on his fiery red dragon and save me,” She answered with fire in her eyes and attitude lacing her voice.
“Ha, ha, ha,” He laughed, “all dragons are extinct; I should know I killed the last one.”
There was no mistaking it now, she is the presence of the fearsome Kai and Talon the dragon slayers. They had hunted the graceful creatures to extinction and got away with it by telling everyone that they were vicious beasts. Men like them chilled her to the bone because men like them feared nothing, not even death. Her terrified heart pounded against her ribcage as she took in the dire situation with wide, shocked eyes. Her hands shook as she took a shaky breath and opened her mouth.
“You’re, you’re monsters.” She stuttered.
“That’s right Princess, the stuff of nightmares.” He said, grinning.
Lillianna’s head spun as she tried to collect and arrange the thoughts that ran wild in her dazed mind. She opened her quivering lips to reply but the words left her as she saw Talon raise a huge muscled arm, knocking her out again. He then took a quick glance at the princess, spun around and walked out of the cold, dripping cave.
