Peter dove down under the frothing waves after Phoenix, the rest of the clan where all too horrified to do anything but sit and stare with a frightened look on their faces. Some bubbles went up and they waited. The splashing died down and they waited, all they could do was wait. They all looked at the water. About five minutes went by and nothing happened, not a bubble rose not a wave churned. All was still, too still. What was a huge storm five minutes ago had become completely still water. What was so powerful that the waves themselves stilled in its presence? Then it happened. A deafening raw filled the clouds it was as though the very skies where yelling. The riders covered their ears and looked up. The dragons closed their eyes and bowed their heads in mid-flight. Then the riders saw what the dragons already knew. They saw him; their mouths dropped open in awe as their eyes took in his graceful glory. It was him, it was The Ethereal. He dove down under the waves that didn’t even cover his body. He snatched up Peter, Jewel and Phoenix in one huge claw, their bodies where limp and unmoving.
“Dead, Astrid cried, they’re all dead aren’t they! Then she started sobbing. “Dead they’re all dead, Mike, Lillianna, Jewel, Phoenix, Destany and now Peter, dead, this isn’t a rescue mission, no it’s a death chase, it’s a death chase that I’m leavening while I still have Justice.”
Then she left, no one tried to stop her, truth be told they all wanted to leave too. But their dragons wouldn’t let them.
“Come on comet.” Ben sighed.
“Let’s go Emerald.” Pearl sniffed.
“Ruby let’s leave their not coming back.” Lucy prompted.
“Star there’s nothing for us here.” Isabell reasoned.
“Hunter let’s get you home.” Jeffrey said flatly.
“Fierce the battles over lets go now.” Scar huffed with a tear rolling down his cheek.
“Tanipha come on we’ve got a village to tend to.” Henare soothed.
“Spirt I can’t stay here any longer.” Sasha pleaded.
The dragons motioned towards Ethereal. The ridders looked towards to the alpha dragon that was surprisingly still there. The eight riders looked at The Ethereal with their faces full of mixed emotions. They saw something that surprised everyone. Massive, wet, glittering fluid was running down his cheeks. The Ethereal, the alpha of all alphas was crying, his huge tears adding to the slowly rising ocean. But why, why would this majestic, wise beast be crying? With the dragons and riders still in its paw The Ethereal flew away. The other riders took off flying after them without any effort on their part. The dragon’s berley managed to keep this huge beast in sight but whenever The Ethereal flew out of sight he stopped and let then catch up. Finally they arrived at what appeared to be a hollowed out mountain. The ethereal flew in but the dragons stayed inside and refused to go in. what could be in the mountain? Why did the Ethereal cry? Why didn’t the dragons go in the cave?
