Back in a place that is nowhere mike sighed, beat down and sweating, and picked up his unsheathed sword.
Well, he mumbled, if I can do that I guess I can go anything.
But there was something, a faint voice, in his head.
“Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, Mike, do you really think that this is going to be easy? Let’s see hum, well we’ve had the test of wits, now we will have the tests of speed, strength and mercy, after all, they are a knights traits, are they not? But let’s make this a little more exciting.” It said with a silver tongue. “This time you won’t know what order they will be in. yes, that’s much more fun. We don’t want you getting bored or comfortable. Not after what you did to me, after what you did, you don’t deserve anything. Let the second trial began!”
Then it vanished.
Mike was left alone, staring into the darkness, waiting for some sort of movement. He saw nothing. He counted a minute in his head, then half an hour. Still, he could hear nothing; he sighed, relaxed his grip on his sword and sat down. Bored, he started to unpick the loosely hanging threads on his white, tattered shirt that had the knights’ crest on it. He thought about the rest of the clan. Another hour passed. He sheathed his sword and sighed again.
I’m glad that there wasn’t a test of penitence, I’d surely fail then. Mike thought as he smiled to himself.
Then he saw it. A faint glimmer, it was there for a second then gone. He rubbed his eyes. Nothing, he strained to see something in the darkness but still nothing. There was a voice.
“Mike….s…s…save...c…c...can’t breathe.” The voice breathed.
“Q… Queen Elisa, n...no it can’t be.” Mike gasped.
“Mike…save me…p…please.” It rasped.
Then mike saw a bright light, so bright that it consumed the darkness all around. He shut his eyes but that did nothing. It grew and grew until it seemed to be coming from every direction. Then it suddenly vanished, replaced with that time, that horrible time. He knew it was the one because he saw her.
“No! No, no not again. I can’t do this again!” Mike screamed.
Then he collapsed on the ground and started sobbing.
