2023 ― Venice, Italy
"Don't worry... we're in this together.""Stark left these for you... for both of you." Fury said while handing Peter, who was now fully equipped in his suit, a case. Amaya was also fully equipped in her suit, with her bandana secured around her mouth. Hearing the name Stark brought a sad silence to both of the teenagers. Because they both loved him so much, and they both had to watch him die.
Amaya looked over Peter's shoulder as he opened the case, and she smiled at the 'Stark Industries' at the bottom of the case, and then she felt her heart clench because they were the sunglasses that Tony always wore, but she knew if he was giving them to Peter... and her too, there's an AI system built into it.
"Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. Stark said you wouldn't get that because it's not a Star Wars reference." Fury said while scoffing as Peter handed Amaya the case, and she lightly let her fingers run over it. One of the last pieces of Tony that they have left, and he left it for both of them.
"What... you mean, me and Peter have to lead?" Amaya asked.
"Well... your parents are retired... someone has to lead the rest of the Avengers." Fury said as they got off of the boat they were on when they arrived at their destination. "You two can lose the masks. Everyone here has seen you both without it, and Amaya everyone here knows your parents. You'd only be feigning anonymity and breathing through spandex and a bandana for no good reason." Fury said as the two kids stopped.
Amaya slowly untied her bandana from her face and folded it up before putting it in her pocket while Peter took off his mask as well. Amaya then grabbed her boyfriend's hand because she was nervous and had no idea what they were walking into. Peter could tell by her grip that she was nervous and he gently squeezed her hand.
"Don't worry... we're in this together." Hearing his thoughts brought a smile to her face.
"Come on." Fury said to the couple as he walked them into the room where some agents, Amaya assumed, were working. "Over there, we have Maria Hill." He said and then she looked up. Amaya vaguely remembered her. She remembered seeing her around Stark Towers when she and Christian were younger, and Maria gave her a smile, which she returned. "That is Dimitri." Fury said while pointing to a man who was sitting as he cocked the gun that was in his hands. "And this is Mr. Beck." Fury said and Amaya recognized the cape, and as the man turned around, she was surprised.
"Mysterio?" Peter mumbled.
"What?" Beck asked.
"Doesn't matter. It's what our classmates have been calling you because the news was calling you, 'a man of mystery.' Not a big deal." Amaya said and Beck nodded his head as he walked towards the kids.
"Well, you both can call me Quentin." He said while shaking both of their hands, and then he smiled at Amaya. "I'm a big fan of your parents." He said, and she laughed.
"A lot of people are." She said.
"You both handled yourself well out there today." He said and then he looked at Peter. "I saw what you did with the tower." He said and then he looked at Amaya. "And your powers are... wow you just blew me away." He said and Amaya blushed a little.
"Thank you." She said.
"We could use someone like both of you on my world," Beck said.
"Thanks," Peter said. Then it registered in his head what Quentin Beck actually said. "I'm sorry. Your world?" Peter asked him.
"Mr. Beck is from Earth. Just not yours." Fury said.
"There are multiple realities. This is Earth Dimension 616. I'm from Earth 833." Beck said and both kids got excited as they stepped up to him, a light sparkling off in both of their eyes.
