The Aftermath || PETER PARKER [2]

[13]: Illusions

2023 ― Berlin, Germany
"If you were both good enough, maybe Tony would still be alive."

The pair rode on top of the train until they reached Berlin, before bringing themselves down off the train and onto the ground. Peter tried to ask a woman for assistance in knowing where the conference was, but she got scared and ran away. As the couple was about to keep walking, a car pulled up stopping them and when the window rolled down, they were both relieved to see Fury.

"Get in." He said to them. Peter opened the back door for Amaya and she slid inside, and after he closed her door, he got inside up front next to Fury. Peter took his mask off and Amaya untied her bandana.

"Mr. Fury...-" Peter started to say but Fury cut him off.

"...-Let me guess. You've got a lot of explaining to do." Fury said.

"No, no, no, listen." Peter said but Fury held up a finger to silence him.

"Wait until we're secure." He said and Peter nodded his head.

"Okay." He said while taking a deep breath and sitting back, but the car continued to beep because Peter didn't have his seatbelt on and Fury cleared his throat, and gestured for him to put it on. "Right." Peter said and Amaya watched as he struggled to get the seatbelt out of the seat, and she shook her head from the backseat. He ended up pulling it too hard, and pulling the seatbelt completely off to which Fury only shook his head.

When they got to the building, Peter put his mask back on, and Amaya tied her bandana back on, as Fury led them through the complex. He led them to an individual room. "So, is there anything you want to tell us about your girlfriend?" Fury asked the two of them. Maria Hill also stood in front of them.

"Uh... what about me?" Amaya asked.

"He's talking about EDITH." Maria said to clear up her confusion, and Amaya nodded her head.

"Look, I know I made a mistake, and I'm sorry. But he is not who you think he is." Peter said.

"He's right. Beck is a liar. Mysterio, the Elementals, it's all fake. He has some sort of illusion tech. And that's how he tricked you guys, and Peter into giving him EDITH." Amaya said and then she pulled the projector out of her pocket and slid it on the table. "It's a projector. Peter pulled it off the fire monster in Prague." She said.

"So all that death and destruction we witnessed was created by this?" Fury asked while pointing to the projector on the table. The couple shook their heads.

"No, not just this. We think he's using drones." Amaya said.

"Well... if this is true, then Beck's very dangerous and we need to be smart." Fury said as Maria started to walk away towards the window, and then he looked back to Peter and Amaya. "Who else did you tell about this?" He asked.

But Amaya felt something inside of her, and Peter felt it too. Amaya could pick up on Beck's brain activity and she knew that he was there, she just didn't know where he was. "Parker! Rogers!" Fury said.

"What's wrong?" Maria asked.

"It's Beck. He's here. I can feel him." Amaya said and she was right. The room around them started to disappear, including Maria Hill and Fury immediately drew his gun.

"Hill?" He asked.

"No, it's just an illu...-" But Peter was cut off by the sound of a gunshot, and Amaya's eyes widened as Fury went back into the wall and fell to the ground.

"Fury!" Amaya and Peter both yelled at the same time.

"Amaya, look out!" Peter exclaimed. He was facing the opposite of Fury, and saw a drone pointed straight at his girlfriend and he pushed her out of the way right as the drone fired which sent him flying over the edge, and Amaya's eyes widened.
