2023 ― Netherlands
"I promise.""Amaya, baby, slow down, what's going on?" Katherine's voice rang through the phone. Amaya was sobbing. She didn't know where she was, and she had to ask someone to use their phone. She had no idea where Peter was. She was trying to follow him, but she lost his trail, so the only thing she could do was call her Mom, and hope that she could get in touch with Happy.
"Mysterio... Beck... he tricked us... and illusions... and he... you, and daddy, Christian, little T were all... and Uncle T, he's..." Amaya was hyperventilating through the phone, not able to explain the illusions that Beck showed her. "And Peter... a train, I couldn't stop it... I...-" She cut herself off and started to cry hysterically again.
"Maya... where are you, honey?" Katherine asked.
"The outside of Berlin... I can't find Peter... he... he was hit by a train, what if he's dead too?" Amaya started to cry more and Katherine frowned more.
"Okay, baby hold on. Your dad is going to call Happy and we're going to come to get you and then we're gonna find Peter, okay? I promise." Katherine said and Amaya nodded her head even though her mom couldn't see her as she continued to cry.
"Ok...Okay." She sniffled before hanging up the phone.
Then all she could do was wait.
―
Amaya now sat on a private jet with Happy and her mother as they flew into the Netherlands because Peter had called Happy. Amaya was just so happy that he was alive. She sat next to her mom with her head on her lap, while Katherine ran her fingers through her hair. When Katherine and Happy first picked Amaya up, Katherine could see visibly that her daughter was still shaking, and Amaya sat down and explained everything that happened to them.
The jet landed in a field of flowers, and as soon as the doors opened, Amaya immediately ran out and saw Peter in an orange shirt. "Underoos!" She exclaimed while running towards him, this time happy tears were flowing down her cheeks that he was okay. "Are you okay?" She asked him when she got closer to him, but Peter backed up, in fear that she was another illusion.
"Amaya, is that really you?" Peter asked while keeping his distance from her.
"Yeah, it's me... of course it's really me, I promise." She sniffled while trying to take a step closer, but Peter shook his head and held his arm out.
"Stop! Tell me something only you would know." Peter said and Amaya wasn't offended that he asked her that, because she was still very shaken by what Beck made them go through as well.
"Okay, uh remember after I had to go back to upstate New York after we turned down being Avengers, and you told me that story about how you were younger and May caught you...-" Amaya started to say but Peter nodded his head while holding up his hand to stop her. He was just relieved to know that it was really his girlfriend standing in front of him.
Peter continued to limp over to her, and the couple threw their arms around each other, while Amaya nuzzled her head into Peter's neck, as she started to cry more. "I'm so glad it's really you," Peter whispered into her hair while she sniffled.
"I...-I'm sorry, I couldn't stop the train, it was too fast." She cried and Peter shook his head.
"No, no... it's not your fault. Shh, it's okay." Peter said. As Amaya lifted her head, she immediately brought their lips together, and Peter didn't hesitate to kiss her back, when they broke apart, she wrapped her arms around him again, and hugged him once more, while running her fingers back through his tousled hair before Katherine stepped out of the jet.
