Chapter 2: The Student Council

Ryuga's mind: "How did I end up here?"

He was currently sitting in the student council room along with two other guests, Tatsuya and Miyuki. This morning, he was caught off guard by the student council president's invite for lunch. Since he couldn't say no to her, he's now unpacking his bento along with the others. All of the student council was present, except for the vice-president.

Mayumi was the first one to speak, as everyone was getting ready to eat.

Mayumi: "We introduced ourselves at the matriculation ceremony, but just in case..." She gestured to a beautiful girl with light-black/greyish hair. "Sitting next to me is our treasurer Suzune Ichihara, a.k.a. Rin!"

Suzune: "You're the only one who ever calls me Rin, president." She sighed a little.

Ryuga's mind: "This girl.. she might be one of 'my people.'"

Mayumi: "You know who's sitting next to her, right?" She pointed to Mari. "That's Mari Watanabe, chairman of the Disciplinary Committee." She then pointed to the small girl with orange hair. "And that's our secretary, Azusa Nakajo, a.k.a. A-chan!"

Azusa: "President! Please don't call me A-chan in front of the new students. I have a reputation to uphold also!" She pouted a little, which Ryuga thought was unsettling, since he has a decent dislike for kids.

Mayumi: "And along with Hanzo, our vice-president, that's our student council this semester."

Mari: "Although I'm not a member."

Miyuki: "Ms. Watanabe."

Mari: "What is it?"

Miyuki was looking at Mari's bento, with a little pity in her eyes.

Miyuki: "Did you make that bento yourself?"

Mari: "Yes... is it that much of a surprise?"

Tatsuya: "No, not at all. We could tell by looking at your hands."

He stared at the bandage that was wrapped around one of her fingers. Ryuga was still eating in silence, since he had no idea how to converse properly with people his age.

Miyuki: "I know, how about we start bringing bentos?" She spoke to her brother.

Tatsuya: "That sounds delightful, but I don't know of a place where we can be alone."

 Suzune: "You sound more like lovers than siblings."

Ryuga's mind: "You're telling me.."

Tatsuya: "Do we? Well I do admit.." 

He was about to say something, but Ryuga tapped him on the leg, under the table. Tatsuya took a quick glance at Ryuga, and his eyes told him not to say the next part. Tatsuya understood, to the best of his ability, and tried to continue talking.

Tatsuya: "I do admit that she's very beautiful."

An awkward silence crept up, as everyone looked between Ryuga and Tatsuya. They saw Tatsuya look over, but they don't know what they secretly conversed.

Mayumi: "I feel like we were left out of that conversation.."

Tatsuya: "What conversation?"

Mayumi: "Between you two..."

Tatsuya: "Oh that? I only looked at him because I thought I heard him cough."

Mayumi: "Is that so?.."

Ryuga almost smiled at how bad Tatsuya was at lying, but he managed to keep it hidden. After a few minutes, everyone was done with their lunches. Mayumi, once again, spoke first.
