Chapter 24: Ordinary Life

So the team, along with the Avengers, left on this lonely night to go to The Garden, and finally make things right.

They landed in The Garden, and Terra had to admit, it was beautiful. But since Thanos had used the stones there, the people must have disappeared like they did on Earth.

Just to be cautious, they landed the ship a little ways away from the cabin that Thanos lived in.

Captain Marvel and Thor rose into the air and crashed into his house. Bruce, in his Hulkbuster machine, busted through the floor.

Everyone else heard a chop, and a groan from what must have been Thanos.

They all entered. When Ven saw Thanos, he was astounded.

"He's a giant!" He whispered to Baelfire.

"You haven't seen the ogres." Bae replied quietly.

Rocket flipped over the gauntlet where Thor had violently chopped off Thanos' arm, and everyone's hearts dropped.

The stones were gone.

"Oh no." Terra said under his breath.

"What did you do?!" Abel yelled.

"The universe needed correction. After that, the stones served no purpose." Thanos said.

"Y-you murdered my b-brother!" Bill exclaimed angrily.

"Yeah, not to mention the trillions of other people!" Terra added.

"You should be grateful." Thanos replied.

Starboy burst into flames and punched Thanos as hard as he could. "How can you say this! These are no ordinary lives your killing. These are innocent people!"

"Where are the stones?" Natasha asked.

"Gone. Reduced to atoms."

"You used them just a little bit ago!" Bruce shouted.

"I used the stones to destroy the stones." He explained. "It nearly killed me. But the work is done. It always will be. I am... Inevitable."

"C'mon, guys. He has to be lying." Pharrell said.

"My father is many things." Nebula spoke up. "A liar is not one of them."

Thanos looked at his daughter softly. "Thank you, daughter. Perhaps I treated you too harshly."

Suddenly, Thor took his axe, and chopped off Thanos' head!

Bill looked away with disgust.

"What did you do?" Steve exclaimed.

"I went for the head."

With that, Thor exited the house.

Nebula bent down and closed her father's eyes.

"Hey! Where are you going?" Colonel Rhodes asked. "You just killed Thanos. What are we gonna do now?"

"Nothing. There's nothing left to do. We lost."

"Maybe he's right." Rocket said. "The stones are gone. There's no way to get them back." He started walking out with Thor.

"Wait!" Baelfire shouted out.

Everyone turned to him.

"Maybe there is a way to get them."

"How? Thanos said himself, they're gone." Rocket said.

"What do you have in mind?" Ven asked his friend.

Baelfire leaned in and whispered to Ven, who's eyes went wide.

"You don't mean..."

Bae nodded. "My papa can get them."
